After Pazuzu - what's next for the Demons?

For the present articles, we'll be sticking to the demon lords. That's not to say that the other stuff is off limits, but it would probably take a different form. I think one could cover the slaad lords or, say, the Elemental Princes of Evil (to hint at a proposal I'd automatically accept) in a single "overview"-style article.

How big an article would this be? The elemental princes are capital N neato, so it would be good to do an article of decent size - since it isn't likely they'll be cropping up in any official books anytime soon.

I'll send a pitch your way for them (I've got 3 articles in Dragon, and a demon/devil/evil otherplanar book under my belt), but I think a good long article would be necessary to do them justice.

Charon the boatman!

I'd like to see him returned and possible uses for him in a Sigil campaign or other planar hopping tools.

Maybe a sidebar with historical information about him and customs to appease him.

don't forget Pazuzu made his film debut in the Exorcist. :p

also iirc, he gets some mention in the Banewarrens d02 by Monte Cook as window dressing for a trap encounter.

as for others i'd like to see... The Faceless One is high on my list.

Anyone else finds it ironic that the current Editor-In-Chief of Dragon not only got an article rejected (which, after all, is bound to happen to anyone who submits a number of articles), but was apparently incensed enough to remember the exact number of typos the rejection letter contained?

Not that I blame you, Mr Mona, I would remember that too.

Whee - More demon Lords !
now youve gone and done it I swiched over to buying occasional Dungeon issues when the format moved to most of the DM content, although it doesnt work that well as an adventure source because two my players have a subscription.

Now I have to pick up Dragon as well. When I started a new campaign one of my choices was to add more outerplanes and space for unique demonlords. The last game had only three - as they were wrapped up in an origin myth. One was Zuul lord of Hunger, and not at all based on the Dragon article about a demon lord with the same portflio. Allright no more than half, well I had the name and concept before reading it.
;)
One of the PCs ended up worshiping him, although he died before the rest of the party confirmed their suspcions, or he recieved any benifits.

Anyone notice that we name-checked Anthraxus in Dungeon last year? It didn't seem to generate many letters or online commentary, unfortunately (although admittedly it was more of an aside).

Yup! :D

Basically, I think I do my best work as editor when I publish material that I find interesting as a gamer and a fan of D&D first, and as the editor-in-chief of Dragon or Dungeon second. I've been fairly well obsessed with the fiends of the "Great Wheel" cosmology since I was a little kid (as anyone who's read "Armies of the Abyss" could probably tell), so these articles are really fun to solicit, read, and publish.

So why no devils/ I'd love to read more about the lesser devils. Not the princes but maybe Glaysa? The fiends of the court of Bel perhaps? That would rock!

Hey, Alzrius, are you aware of the "Flame Amulet of Alzrius," one of a few items in an article called "Gifts from Below," published in Polyhedron (maybe 136 or so)?

Well damn, now I MUST have it! Thanks for the info Erik, although pinpointing exactly what issue that was in is going to be extremely hard, since there doesn't appear to be one Polyhedron index on the entire internet.

Just curious, Olive, have you checked out Beyond the Gates of Hell from those great guys at Dicefreaks? It sounds perfect for what you want. Heck, I'd daresay it's perfect, period.
