Against the Storm: Reenforcements (GE)

Suddenly Kelnar becomes stoic, hearing of the impending attack on the Elven Navy, "I have no questions, I only hope we can be given the night to rest. It has been a...draining day *dry sarcasm*. Is there a room that I can retire to."

OOC: No problem DM_Matt. My background was vague and loose. I was basically a representative from the north that the tribal community felt was need for a task and sent me from my mountain home down here for reasons you stated. I will have wasted all my healing for the night on people bringing them up to speed. Oh and wild shape form will be the dire sabretooth. It appears i must pick a form (checked out the SRD) and that's what i want to be in.

IC: The feral human slowly takes in these words, she speaks of much of the gods and their plans, did the heirophant really intend for all this to happen? Is this all for the benfit of his people? Will this all come to pass? What of this group of people they were going to join? What of them?

"Speak now of the others whom we will be aiding? What are their abilities? How shall we aid them beyond what happened here? Be they knowing we be coming? Will they fall upon us with their weapons or do they know we be allies against this foul creature that plagues our land?"

So many questions, so many things happening that are so unlike the world he knew. These city folk have such broad and multiple problems no wonder they can get nothing done. Life was easier in the woods. He silently plays with his necklace of teeth lost in thought.

Leopold: When the SRD says that the Druid can only assume one form, unlike the standard version of Polymorph Self, it means that he cannot change to another form (except to his natural form) without using the ability again. One who casts polymorph self can keep changing forms as long as the spell lasts.

Furthermore, both Polymorph Self and Wildshape were errata'd, with the splatbook versions superceding the PHB versions (It says this explicitly in said splatbooks). In MOTW (where the updated Wild Shape is), it says "the druid may only adopt one animal form per use of the ability.

Another update to both poly self and wild shape is that you get all the new forms Ex abilities. For druids in elemental form, they get Su and Sp abilities, too.

Irusyl continues talking as she goes to tend to Rana and Wethrin.

Jonathan rotests: "Why are you going to send Rana! She's in no condition to..."

Irusyl cuts him off: Nice try. She'll be fine in the morning. You'll get yourself killed and you know it. Rana can deal camly with someone who has smacked her around a bit. Seeing what they did to Wethrin, you'll be looking for bloody, painful vengeance, and I am NOT going to let your personal grudges get in the way of this mission. You will stay with me. We have some important work to do?"

Irusyl addresses Emcat: They will know Rana. They are not the most covert of strike teams, but they make up for it in raw might. The most distinguishable among them are a big half-orc, a Mulhorandi brass half-dragon, and a wood elf. They don't necessarily trust us, but their hearts are in the right place. Whatever you do, tohugh, do not tell them the purpose of their mission. I need to be sure that they can follow orders before I teach them to trust me.

(Assuming Kelnar is well enough to talk and ask questions)

"How are we to get to Luskan and how are we to contact this group?"
"Do you have a specific way you would like the temple of Umberlee destroyed?"

See below

"Do you have a specific way you would like the temple of Umberlee destroyed?"

"Completely."

......

You retire to your quarters as Irusyl and Jonathan spend night preparing your mission.

When you get up, Irusyl conjures breakfast, sadly noting that Jaina/Kirstin used to make it out of real food for you guys. Jonathan looks like he is about to drop dead. He apparently has been up all night and didn't exactly emerge fro mthe battle unscathed. Wethrin shows know signs of improving. Rana joins you, seeming a little shakey and sporting a rather prominent bruise on her cheek, although she seems to get a bit stronger having eaten.

Irusyl announces: "I was hoping to find you a way to Luskan that will get you there before the Kraken, but unfortunately, that is not possible. I have arranged for you disguises and passage through a Zhentish arms caravan (disguised as a) that has arranged for itself safe passage to Luskan from Waterdeep. Their plan to evade the authorities is excellent, but we should be able to get you out of trouble if you are caught among them.

You will leave in three hours...any questions?

OOOC: oh so i can only take ONE form and not keep shifting all around back and forth i take it? ok THAT makes sense...

IC: "How will we recognize our new 'companions'? Will they be wearing something? How can we be sure we are not led into a trap? What will we be wearing along the route dressed as? I have my animal companion with me and i am loathe to let him run free where i cannot sense him. Is this path via water? Via land? will we be boarding a ship? If possible could i pass as a animal trainer from the north? Perhaps be regarded as a mystic shaman or some sort. I know of the Zhents and their behaviors and don't know how they will behave if a wandering woodsman has a large fanged beast beside them."
