Age of Worms H/C - unlikely :(

It'd be nice to see a hardcover AoW out there, but I don't know if I'd actually buy it when it came down to choosing between that and something altogether new.

Happily, we are in production on tons of "altogether new" stuff, too. I can't discuss anything beyond the GameMastery Modules yet, but as part of our 5-year anniversary celebration, we've promised a major announcement every single month this year. Not all of them have to do with our RPG lines, but a few of them are going to trigger a great deal of internet discussion and customer interest. I have never been more excited to work at Paizo Publishing, and I've been here since the first day the doors opened.

Also, with regards to WoTC publishing adventures? I'm all for it, because it means I get Expedition to Castle Greyhawk, FR super modules and all kinds of other goodies. If the third party companies can't compete then I'm afraid that's their look out...it's just business.

Did you know that "Expedition to Castle Greyhawk," that WotC book you're looking forward to, was written by three members of Paizo's senior editorial staff? We're super excited to see how the final book turns out!

Erik,

That makes two of us that are excited by Expedition to Castle Greyhawk.

Next to Expedition to Undermountain, its very, very high on my "must have list."

Like a Age of Worms HC. :p :)

I hope to see a new hardback fom Paizo in the not too distant future.

I don't really care what it is; I'll buy it on the strength of the first two being so good.

However, if anything gets cancelled I hope its Age of Worms, as it doesn't appeal to me as much as the others.

To echo Boss Mona's statements, I'm still very interested in doing a hardcover Age of Worms product some day, and I'm going to keep pushing for it as well untill the Men in Black come along and zap me with the red light that wipes out my memory.

As for Savage Tide, it started in issue #139 and's going right through to issue #150. I'm just now starting to get the last few adventures in and hoo-boy... there's some cool stuff in there still on the way!

Send,

I'll remember to tell you that the next time you try to find a job and someone doesn't hire you because "It's cheaper to get someone unskilled."

huh. If I apply for a job and don't get it because the employer finds somebody who's better suited to the position in question, then that would actually bear some resemblance to my preference for the WoTC line.
Maybe I hit a personal sore spot with you or something, but I'm failing to see how preferring actual setting related products to generic modules bears any link to cheaper, unskilled labour?

Honestly I don't mind the Expeditions and the FR stuff. I just want them to STOP DOING the other stuff, like Red Hand, and a few others that honestly aren't a) that good or b) necessary to support WotC's bottom line.

Also a AoW HC is way better than a shiny WotC. Well most of the time.

See, this is where we differ I think. I like most of the WoTC stuff far more than the few 3rd party products I've bought.
Also, while the AOW is a damned fine campaign, I'm not likely to pay twice for the same product- especially when it's a campaign I'll have already run when the book comes out.

There are more DMs who don't buy Dungeon than do. While they might not be able to sell an AoW HC to you, it'd sell to me and many others who either don't subscribe or didn't discover the series in time.

Excellent, that's the kind of thing I'm much more interested in seeing on the shelves, as opposed to what would amount to a Special Edition reprint. Looking forward to seeing what you have in mind.

Yes, I did know that. And I'm quite confident that it'll be worth the wait because of the talent involved. My comment about lack of interest in 3rd party products was not because I don't have any regard for the writers skill, and all because I'd much sooner see a new GH or FR book as opposed to Generic Adventure #7.

Fair point, I was simply expressing my own opinion there.

Erik,

Good cause if one more thing happens today that I don't like, I'm planning to air raid Seattle in a big way.

WAIT A REDHOT MINUTE! WOTC's in Renton.

We should include Kent and Auburn in the air raid as well, for good measure. The meth cloud could be seen for miles.
