Airwalkrr's 4e Game IC: Ch 2 Amnesia

"Well the Johak Empire and the Berandal Republic have never quite got along. Perhaps you know some of the old stories of the War of Republics, back before Berandal was unified. At the time, the Johak Empire played the many factions and independent nations that would eventually unify against each other. Some Berandalis still resent that even though the War was decades ago. And then there is their use of monsters and humanoids in their armies, not to mention their practice of slavery. It is a decadent and cruel empire, and we have never quite gotten along well together. The Republic must remain ever vigilant against the potential aggressions of the Empire."

After sitting in the room tapping his fingers for a few moments, Celen pipes up, "So then... I take it you have no other questions and are ready to depart?"

Erik

"Where is Omar and how do we find this monastery? Do you have a map? Also the trip will take longer, as none of us owns a horse and we only get meager payment..." Erik responds.

"Ugh, again with the complaints. Honestly, I so tire of having to deal with you mercenary types. Nothing is ever enough for you is it?

"I will be taking care of your traveling expenses, and even if I weren't I imagine 350 berans would get you to the other side of the continent with plenty left to spare. And I wouldn't recommend taking horses anyway. Its rugged terrain some of it, and they probably couldn't handle it. The mountains are probably all that keeps the Imperial Army away sometimes...

"But I digress. Omar is in my safe-keeping for the time being. You will be introduced as soon as you are ready to leave. And as for directions, that will be provided as well. You'll be taking a rather easy-to-follow mountain trail up to the monastery once you leave the Grand Highway, but I have a map drawn up for you all the same, should you get lost and need to find your bearings."

"I'm a simple man m' friend. I don't require much from an contractor, just that all the facts are established before I embark on a potentially deadly mission. Now don't get paranoid about it anyways, you ARE dealing with mercenaries, we need to get as much profit of each mission as we can. So stop whining about it, right? We'll take the man to his monastery. Now give us all we need and let's get done with this." Petron says, although not as jovial as he uses to be, his voice is more stern and serious this time, as he scowls the half elf.

OOC: Although Lia ought to have a pretty good sense of the geogrphay of the country, I don't, so...

"How long are we travelling on the Grand Highway? And how close is the turn-off for this trail to a village or town of any size?" Lia asked.

"Also, if Omar has not regained his memories, why is he interested in going back to the monestary? Is there anyone there that might be able to help him?" She said.

"Well I've given you all the facts that I find pertinent. Of course if you have any specific questions, I'll be happy to answer them to the best of my ability."

"You'll be on the Grand Highway for a little over a day, then you turn east onto a mountain trail that leads to the monastery. It is drawn out plainly on your map. I have noted the necessary landmarks, namely the shrine to Avandra which is located at the juncture of the Highway and the mountain trail. In between the monastery and the Highway there is a small mountain village called Berth. You can rest there if you like, although you shouldn't tarry long.

"As for Omar, he doesn't know a soul in this city. As I said he awoke here without his any memory of his life a short while ago and has simply taken to mercenary work to pay for living expenses. When it was explained to him that he had a home and friends in a monastery, he was rather delighted at the idea. Poor fellow. I can't begin to imagine what it is like to completely lose one's memory. Anyway, a good friend of mine named Tyrus Kalman runs the Gea Citadel and has assured me he will do everything he can to help Omar regain his memory, and even if he can't, he promises Omar a good home there."

All right then ladies and gentlemans,i think the time for talk is over and the time for the job is ahead.let's take all the stuff we need and get going to our destination.

"Very well then," Celen says as he leaves the room. "I'll return at noon with Omar. You can head out then. Make sure you have everything ready for the journey. I've already secured the necessary supplies, rations, waterskins, and so forth. I've even included a couple of climbing kits to make traversing the mountains a little easier."

With this, Celen dumps a knapsack on the floor. "That's yours to keep after you complete the mission."

The knapsack appears to be a simple sack of brown canvas. However upon further inspection you discover it to be a bag of holding, which includes all the supplies Celen mentioned.
