Airwalkrr's Greyhawk D&D 3.5 - Maure Castle OOC

I played with Jemal in one of his epic lvl games and am aware of most epic feats. But not only is that 9 lvls away at the least (an unheard of benchmark to reach in a pbp game), but it only improves non item-related DR which my character has no way of getting. I'll just have to get something like Dire Charge instead :p if we ever make it to epic lvl.

whelp.... as far as I remember.. it wasn't an epic feat..... but if your character doesn't have non-item DR then nm.. not worth it.... however *I* have cold iron DR so I may look into it if I can find the damned feat somewheres heh....

get down with your bad self ;) but the "thick skinned" feat is from savage species, a 3.0 book which is a completely different kind of DR from 3.5. Does the warlock class count as a caster for "caster lvls" in item creation?

@ Air - will those with item creation feats be able to create MIC items in game?

Conviction/Superior Resistance/Greater Resistance: You do have a good point regarding the duration. However a resistance bonus is still much more valuable than a morale bonus. With that in mind, let's make the following adjustments. Change the duration of conviction and greater resistance to 1 minute/level. Change the duration of superior resistance to 10 minutes/level (keep the +6 bonus).

Resurgence: fine.
Divine Insight: fine.
Ghost Touch Armor: fine.
Benediction:
Blindsight: fine.
Mass Conviction: fine, but with a 1 minute/level duration.
Mass Lesser Vigor: fine.
Channeled Divine Shield:
Panacea: fine.
Revivify: fine.
Surge of Fortune: fine, except that instead of the immediate action to treat a roll as a natural 20, it is treated as an automatic success. If used for an attack roll, you still get to roll to see if it is a critical threat. This change is mainly to prevent abuse with vorpal weapons and similar critical hit special abilities.
Energy Immunity: fine, but with a duration of 1 hour/level.
Planar Exchange: fine.
Greater Plane Shift: fine.
Mass Spell Resistance: fine.
Renewal Pact: fine.

Vest of Resistance: fine. Reference the level according to the appendix, depending on which vest you want.
Monocle of Perusal: fine.
Armor/Weapon Enhancements: use caster level.
Anklet of Translocation: Maybe I failed to mention this before, but I allowed you to use another caster for the spells in crafting other items because they were 3rd level or lower. If you need access to a spell 4th level or higher, you can't make it.

Vertexx69
Armor Specialization: fine.
Ancestral Relic: fine.

The feat you mention only applies to DR that the character possesses naturally, either through a class or racial ability. It doesn't apply to DR granted by items. In the case of Armor Specialization, the DR only applies when wearing armor, thus the DR is item-dependent and not wholly a natural ability.

I am pretty sure the answer will be no.... but I did also note interest in making a custom made up item as well.....

Can I create a custom item that would give me a +2 Profane Bonus to Charisma at all Air?... I'd call it a Warlock's Crown giving me a +2 profane bonus to Cha for the crafted cost of 3000 gold and 240 xp? it's a made up item but follows the item creation rules and such... as it was said before warlocks tend to run into issues with SR rolls so I was hoping to get this little item off the top of my head approved... I still have my head slot open and was hoping to fill it with this....

Just thought I'd give it a shot.... won't know unless I ask :)

EDIT: You know I just realized more CHA isn't going to do anything for SR so perhaps it can at a +2 profane bonus to my spell pen.. for overcoming SR.....

You can research a new magic item by spending 10% of the expected market value of the item in research costs. The resulting item may be cheaper than expected (but no refunds for research cost), the same value as expected, more expensive than expected (requiring additional research at another 10% of the new, greater value) or the item may be impossible to make (IOW not something I will allow into the game). If you are willing to pay the research costs for crafting such an item first, I will let you know the results of your research. Research requires no XP costs, just gp. We will assume the research has taken place prior to the campaign's beginning of course.

Also, pointing out a similar magic item might help make my decision easier.

I've added house rules and variants to the first post. The only things that should be taken care of before the campaign begins are the Weapon Group Feats, Contacts, and Level-Independent XP Awards (for those who are crafting magic items).

These are the house rules and variants I typically use in all my 3.5 campaigns these days, so I doubt that I will add anything to that list between now and the campaign beginning.

Maybe you could create a feat item like "Gloves of the Balanced Hand" (MIC pg105) but give Spell Penetration or Greater Spell Penetration if you already have the Spell Penetration feat? The gloves run 8,000g for an idea.

Wow I'm glad I went back and read your whacky house rules. That weapon durability isn't effected by my charge multiplier is it? If so then every time a character crits they would damage their weapon in the process? A war lance (as opposed to a tournament Lance) is designed to be used from horseback and do X2 (X3 etc.) damage.

Maybe just a couple eternal wands of make whole are going to be needed?

Does the total enhancement / number of enhancements bonus count toward Hardness or just the actual +?

The weapon damage (towards damaging the weapon) doesn't include enhancements, like flaming 1d6 or vicious 2d6 right? Because that would be lame, since its the enhancements that do the extra damage.

I think we need to get all of these things cleared up since 2 or 3 of us are relying on our weapons pretty heavily.

Would a heavy adamntine shield give DR X/- the way armor does?

I also think that damage taken should be able to split between armor and shield instead of all to one or the other. We are highly trained at taking hits after all.
