Alias Superbowl Episode

I'm sure(ok no longer sure) that the reason I started channel flipping was over the lame prophecy destroyer of the world, picture of alias chick drawn like 200 years ago thing.

Ummm...yeah...that was not in this episode. Not at all. There is something similar in a much older, first season episode...

But you mentioned her hot outfit at the beginning (which granted happens in several episodes), which WAS in this episode...so I am very confused what on earth you were watching!

The most recent episode was 100% straight up spy show. In fact, most of the episode was gun fights and ass kicking. The "mystical crap" was linked through a few episodes in the first season, and mostly hasn't been touched this year.

I can vouch for the fact that none of the pseudo-mystical stuff was even hinted at in this episode.

Jennifer Garner's lingerie show at the beginning was jaw-dropping. Hokey smokes.

The rest of the episode was unbelievable. I had a phone call for a bit, so let me ask about something:

SPOILERS

So, now Dixon and the gadget guy (I never remember his name) know they weren't working for the CIA, right? I mean, they don't have SD-6 to work for anymore...

I'll just go with I drink too much. I must of somehow combined what I saw and what a friend told me to try and sell me on the show. Crap now I might have to give it another chance.

Dixon was specifically told by Sidney that he was not working for the real CIA, and he very reluctantly verified information for Sydney that caused the SD-raids. He seemed awful pissed at Sydney for not telling him about this all along, and for using him to cause the death of his coworkers at SD-6.

Marshall Flinkman, SD-6 Technical Operations Officer, is the gadget guy. While he was not specifically told by Sydney, Dixon kept him safe during the raid, and he is now in the custody of the CIA along with Dixon and the other non-security officers of SD-6. I assume they will tell him what happened, and Sydney can vouch for the fact that Marshall never knew that SD-6 was a part of the Alliance rather than the CIA.

Now that the Alliance is dead, but a new threat is on the horizon, it seems plausible that Marshall and Dixon will be recruited now by the real CIA, though that is up in the air. Certainly Dixon's (reluctant) help in bringing down all of the Alliance, including SD-6, will probably look good for him as far as the CIA is concerned. Personally, Marshall is one of my favoriate characters on the show, and I really hope he sticks around.

Me too. I've hoped that Dixon and Marshall would both end up working for the good guys eventually. Of course, I get the feeling that the CIA, as usual in TV and film, will end up being an even more insidious "bad guy" than SD-6. Just a hunch.

Imagine his reaction if/when he finds out that he was inadvertently responsible for the death of a CIA team - remember that episode? I hope this actually comes up again.

I bet it will. This show rarely lets good plot opportunities pass. There is so much they can do now with the Dixon/Syd relationship. And I'm certain that Marshall will come aboard the CIA and work with Syd & Jack again. That is unless Sloan gets to him first...

Am I the only one who thought this last episode of Alias (Feb 2, not the superbowl one) was pretty bad?

And hey, I am one of the bigger Alias fans out there too!
