Alias Superbowl Episode

Yeah, I'm not entirely sure that I like the direction that the series is going.

SPOILERS

First of all, I think the murder of Francie was just stupid. Sure, she's kind of a boring character, but it's like the writers got too lazy dealing with Sydney's non-spy related life that they offed the ONLY person that she knows who isn't somehow involved in 'the trade' so to speak.

Second, regardless of how much longing there was between her and Vaugn... she jumped in the sack with him far too early for my taste. Buh bye romantic tension, hello cliche'd spy partner love story.

Back to Francie for a minute... what the hell was up with the whole 'make out with Will' thing? Once again I felt like the writers were reaching for a way to make the character just that much more sympathetic before they put a bullet in her head. It smacks of amateurish emotional manipulation to me, and I didn't like it.

I think the analogy of the 'reset' button is very appropriate... I just don't think that pushing the button was necessarily a good idea. Hopefully the next several episodes will prove me wrong.

Also... what the hell ever happened to the Rimbaldi stuff?

Jeeze, guys. Give it a few more episodes besides just the one. The Super Bowl ep was the best of the season so of course it's going to be hard to follow. Besides, this week's ep reportedly was re-edited because it was supposed to air after the Super Bowl instead of before it. Alias has been consistantly good. Rambaldi, Stark and Irina will all be back soon and things will continue to heat up. Have some faith and enjoy the ride. :D

Was there an Alias on Sunday the 2nd? I missed it if there was :/ And Superbowls Alias was the first time I caught it too, though I've been hearing great things about it. DVD for first season is coming as well, I think. Nice to know that it's one of the 3 dramas that's working for ABC
