Am I alone in this?

I won't eat eggs unless his mom makes them, too. Which is kinda weird because we never met. Someday they will catch me sneaking in...

I love tomatoes. Absolutely love them, except stewed. Why would you do that to a tomato. I love toasted tomato sandwiches with Miracle Whip and salt and pepper. Sometimes with cheese, sometimes not. With such a big love for raw tomatoes, I pretty much have to have my own garden. What the industrialization of food has done to fruits and veggies is just criminal.

For years, I've had this weird food habit. I loved cooked tomatoes and any other form of tomatoes like tomato sauce and tomato paste. But I absolutely loath raw tomatoes. Heck, heat tomatoes for a bit and I'll eat them. But I think they taste different once warmed up and I think raw tomatoes taste, well, icky. Am I alone in my oddity or do other people share this taste?
i was like this too. then when i turned 30 or so, my tastes changed.

i enjoy them either way now.

My wife used to hate raw tomatoes. Her mother pours boiling water over tomatoes to make the skin fall off and will not eat tomatoes with skin on them (she is in her 70's). Fortunately, the health benefits of tomatoes, such as lycopene, increase with cooking, instead of decreasing like most other foods).

Ohhh....you mean his mom COOKS them.... :: phew :: I had some Kids in the Hall chicken-lady flashbacks, there.

I am so craving a 'mater sammich, right now... tomato, white bread, mayo...YUM!

And for those who hate tomatoes, try this. Go to a restaurant that has a salad bar. Palm a cherry tomato. Return to your seat. With one hand, hold the tomato close to your eye while keeping it hidden from view. With the other hand. slowly bring a fork towards your eye, as if you were going to scratch your eyelid. Then, squeeze the tomato and, as the juice runs through your fingers, scream "AAAGGHHH!! MY EYE! MY EEEEEYYYYYEEEE!" (also works with non-dairy creamers).

I'm a very picky eater

Same here I'm a big pasta/pizza fan but the texture of raw tomatoes just doesn't work for me. I don't mind small cooked tomato bits but I'm likely to skip the bigger chunks. It's even worse for onions.... I can't even tolerate them in any form except onion powder.

I like tomatoes. They're always delicious.

However... I hate eggs in the morning. The thought of eggs before 11am turns my stomach (regardless of how they're cooked). But - for lunch or dinner - HOOK ME UP! I'll eat half a dozen.
