D&D 5E Am I no longer WoTC's target audience?

If Greyhawk had come in 2nd edition, "monster races" would have included half-orcs, you know that, right? The line between "acceptable" and "not acceptable" here seems to be less based in logic and more in "was in the 1st Edition Players Handbook".

Have you seen a trader kobold in the market of the city of Newerwinter?

Please, if you really need a retcon in your game, do it and don't worry about the canon. Maybe your goblin PC was a ordinary human child who has bitten by a ghoul but survived the infection with some sequels, or the minotaurs were humans altered by magic to be sold as slaves. And I dare to say in the future new domains will be added to the demiplane to can use different races or classes for PCs.

Garry's writings as well along with Dragon magazine, earlier materials etc.

2E DMG as well iirc. Game was humanocentric.

You do realise that if WotC where to do a 5e Greyhawk book that aspect would have to be completely dropped?

Maybe but it wouldn't appeal because they made the setting pointless.

Greyhawk to me is a bit darker, gritty, edgier than FR. The races don't get along that well in a lot if cases.

If they make it FR lite they kind if invalidate the setting IMHO.

You mean some of the ones that regularly hire orcs and hobgoblins as mercenaries, or whose official state religion is a devil?

Evil campaign in Iuzs empire is different than most if Greyhawk yes?

Evil individuals will associate with the evil/monstrous humanoids sure. But that's not a they walk into the average town normal is it?

I expect it could still be made gritty whist still steering well clear as anything that could be interpreted as racist.

Indeed, I wouldn't be surprised if an update went more full-on Grimdark than the original.

I'm not talking about Iuz's kingdom... Do you even Greyhawk?

They don't have to go full derp racist. Just say that it's not recommended that the following races are allowed/treated as normal.

Tiefling in most if Greyhawk and especially Ravenloft not exactly normal.
