An open "Thank you" to Erik Mona

Erik,

Let’s just get this out of the way: Thank you.

Over the last couple of days, I have witnessed many people on this board, and on Paizo’s, publicly lambaste you for the removal of the Wil Save column and the continued inclusion of Downer.

I have also noticed, in that time, that you have been gracious in your posts but seem to, understandably, be on edge. You’re probably thinking that no matter what you do, you can’t win.

Well, I’m here to tell you to keep up the great work. I had a subscription to both Dragon and Dungeon up until a couple of years ago. I found that they had nothing for me and were, essentially, a waste of money.

But once I saw Dragon #323 and Dungeon #114 on the shelves, I readily jumped back on the bandwagon and signed back up. Every month there is information relative to me as a DM and as a player, interesting articles, great art and, sometimes, funny comics.

I just wanted to post this to let you know that, no matter how many negative things are said about your current editorial decisions, you have made so many positive contributions to the magazines that I think the criticism, while sometimes valid, in no way detracts from your editorial decisions and your outstanding work on both Dragon and Dungeon.

Wil Save was entertaining but I buy Dungeon for the adventures. IMO the adventure related material that has been the bulk of the magazine is excellent. I hope the focus on that doesn't get lost in worrying about comics and stuff.

I think Erik has done a great job and I applaud him and his staff for the great job they do with both magazines.

I'll join in and say that I've really enjoyed the last couple of issues (particularly #331, the last one I received), and that I find the articles much more applicable to my campaign than ever before. What's more, I am actually finding lots of inspiration for my games in some of the articles (such as the new ecology series, or the Far Realm feature), and I've already altered the adventure I'm currently running to include as much cool stuff from Dragon as I can reallistically fit. Thanks!

You're doing a great job Erik! I love the new format and the online downloads for Dungeon. I may not use all the adventures, but I love reading them month to month.

Age of Worms is some of the best adventure writing I've seen in a long time, can't wait for the next installments!

I -love- Dungeon. Been subscribing since issue 84, and absolutely love Dungeon. I'll miss Will save, but meh, I'd miss the adventure path a lot more. No offense to Will, mind you.

You do good work, and you're not losing this subscriber, even though I don't like part of the magazine. We complain because we care, and because we really do like almost everything you do.

Hear hear! I fully agree with this!
The changes that you have brought to both magazines are above and beyond what I could hope for. I don't always agree with everything you include, but thats life, eh? I can count what I dislike on one hand, but can't count what I like on all my fingers and toes!
