I want to see Connor dead and off Angel but quick. Not reformed, not apologetic, not as a villain, not as an anti-hero. Dead. Get him the hell off my show.
This isn't "Oh, the character's effective, you're supposed to dislike him" hatred. This is "He's about an inch from spoiling what is otherwise my favorite show" hatred. He's served his purpose. Now kill the berk already before he ruins the best show on TV.
But hey, that's just me.![]()
I know the feeling (though I just sigh at Conner for his idiocy, he's just not worth getting aggravated about), but that's how I felt about the battletech plot. I didn't hate the villainess because she was evil. I dreaded every book Stackpole wrote because her presence was so mind numbingly irritating.
So I stopped reading Stackpole.
Buffy & Angel both have a certain lack of suspension of disbelief. I find myself either ignoring things and trying to work around it, or trying to force some logic to what happens. Such as no one noticing Cordie's little problems. Or how the writers thought a chubby pregnant lady would be fearsome or whatever...
Conner, just too stupid. But, since he was part of the Master's plot, perhaps he was Destined to be Stupid! That's it, it's DESTINY!
Likewise, how many times have people gone "well, this doesn't make sense, but I trust Whedon..."
I still enjoy the shows more than watching... well there's nothing else really on, but still, I mostly enjoy the shows!

(I attribute it also to wanting to know what's going on in the metaplot. Same way I have bought game products for lines I'll never play again, but like to follow the metaplot.)
