He shrugs at Kheldar's comment..... I'm not worried, but I thank you for your concern and words of warning all the same. If thier performance last night was any indication, they'll probably surrender without much of a fight. Whether they do or not, I believe that they at least deserve the opportunity.

Kat grins at Mely but finishes closing the vest.

"Just confirming to someone that I do have weapons other than a smart mouth."

She looks at Kheldar, who seems oddly flustered by Melynxt's reappearance. Well, she'll let him introduce himself. If he ever gets around to it.

"So, Trys, just let me know when you're ready. If not today, we can arrange to meet at your convenience, or you can look for me around the tavern. I'm here entirely too much of the time."

Kat smiles as she glances around at the now-familiar scene.

Hmmm...a number of others here too...but rather quiet...other than the gnome and the elf-child. And a rather interesting man with them.

Curious as always, Kat studies Coyote.

Kheldar grunts in frustration. . . Here he had hoped to at least unnerve the paladin a little by appearing behind him. . . But no such luck. . . The man didn't seem rattled at all.

Oh well. . . I suppose he's like me, it takes a lot to surprise hi-Aah!

Kheldar jumps at the sound of a girl's voice directly behind him. Who could it be? He spun on his heel and dived both his hands into his cloak.

"You?"

Kheldar blinks at Melynxt.

For goodness sake Kheldar!. . . Last night has left you a bit jumpy.

Kheldar lets go of the daggers hidden in his cloak and tries to regain his composure.

"Ahem, you should never startle a gentleman like that my lady. . . I. . ."

Oh hell Kheldar, you already look like an ass. . . don't make her look like one too!

Kheldar smiles.

"Please forgive me, Melynxt was it? I'm ah. . . a bit edgy as of late. . . Ahem* It's a pleasure to meet you. . . My name's Kheldar Devaentar, not-so-ticked off rouge at the moment. Don't feel bad Mely, I can't tell ya how much having you come back here has improved my day!"

Heck, improved my week. . . My luck seems to be getting better. . . Now if only I can talk to D'win and Leetah. . .

"I just saw you by yourself and thought maybe you could use some company. . . But if you're needed somewhere don't feel as though you have to stay. . ."

Kheldar gestures to Kat, Trystan and Khaira.

". . . We were just talking about a quest this paladin here is about to embark on. . . I'd be happy to join in Kat, but Trystan's in charge. . . If he says he doesn't need a larger company. . . Well, I guess I'll stay out of his way. . . What is the name of this gang anyway?"

Glances up at the bargolem, I'd like another ale please. And whatever your cook is serving today.

He smiles as a mug of ale and a plate of steaming food is set before him and begins to eat,

This band of brigands isn't really high on my list of things to do. I'll get around to them eventually.....I mean....they were just a scrawny looking little bunch of highwaymen. If they'd had any weapons or other tools worth worrying about I'd think they would've been using them, especially given the fact that I have more fighting ability in my left thumb then they did in the entire group. So....I'm not really worried about them.

With every comment Trys makes, Kat becomes less enthralled with this operation and isn't quite managing to hide it.

Sounds like this bunch would be lucky to have a few coppers in their hideout... ah well... I said I'd help and so I will... if Trys can find me at the time. At least there's the tooth...

Kat had picked up the dragon's tooth to get it out of the way as the various plates were deposited in front of Trys, and now slips it into her bag.

"So, Trys, anything else interesting going on in your life? Mine has been rather boring lately, personally. Things happening to friends, though. One who got burned, one who got poisoned, one whose brother became a vampire, one whose ring was stolen...but most came out all right."

Not really, no. I keep my life as simple as I can after......well.....I keep it as simple as I can. I like my life boring. It gives me more time to worry about more important things.....like OTHER people's lives. Not that I'm overly meddlesome or anything, but if I don't have any problems of my own, it gives me more time to deal with those who ask me for help.

the door opens to admit what could only be a walking arsenal. A red haired and bearded dwarf wearing white dragonscale armor walks in. He is armed with a shortsword, daggers, mace, flail, hammer, a crossbow and an axe, which he carries over his shoulder. His helm is old and battered and he has a backpack with a red sheild strapped to it. He looks around, mutters something, and clomps to the bar and looks at the golem.

"hey golem...gimme an ale!"

He tosses the golem a coin, takes the ale, and drinks it down in one swig, following it with a tremendous belch. he motions for another, pays for it, and takes the mug as he looks around at those gathered.

Well, at least she called me a friend, even though it was a bit indirectly stated. . . vampire?

Something lights up in Kheldar's eyes.

". . .Whose brother became a vampire? Kat, You're not referring to Argentia's brother are you?"

Kheldar remembered posting something connected to Argentia's note for help.

"If you are, how did that turn out? Perhaps you enlighten us about the gory details?"

Kat stops watching the overly be-weaponed dwarf and turns to Kheldar with some surprise.

"You know Argentia? Do you know Felicity, too, then? Oh, but about her brother. Yeah, that did turn out well. I introduced Argentia to Lady Bianca, and Bianca had a friend who could help. Luckily, Argentia's brother was willing to cooperate...since the cure for vampirism involves getting staked first. He had been turned recently enough that he still had some control over his actions. But the woman who did it was good...she let him think it was going to come later, and then suddenly turned and let him have it."

Kat nods with professional appreciation.

"Nice action, very quick and a good underhand force to the stab. He didn't have chance to react. Toppled right over. Then she took the body away and did a resurrection on it to bring back the unturned spirit. He was fine by the next evening."
