Oddly, I think Wickett has the right of it. (Not odd in that he's a dumbdumb-head or anything, but odd that there's normally no difference between Single and S).
A Single RoF means no Double-Tap. Other sources expand on that feat ... in Ultramodern Firearms (and other places, now) there's a feat called "Hail of Bullets" that allows you to use a Semiauto weapon as if it were Auto. I.E. empty your clip into the monster while screaming your head off, because autofire is useless.
The change to autofire Wickett mentioned is one of the first house rules I made to d20M firearm combat. Let me see if I can remember them:
I think I have some more, but that sheet isn't with me. The autofire thing I added because I thought that the whole "you just waste 10x the ammo" concept was a bit dumb. As far as I know, autofire exists to put more lead in the air toward a target, which means a better chance to hit him, so I added a bonus to the attack roll for railing off a few.
The double-barrel rule is because ... well, no logical reason, but I thought it looked cool.
Still haven't had any double-barrel sawed offs.

- Autofire Reflex Save is equal to the modified attack roll.
- Autofire grants a +1 bonus to one attack per 5 (or 10?) bullets expended.
- Side-by-Side double barrel can use Double-Tap without the feat (KABLOOM).
