Anyone heard the Sharn Soundtrack yet?

Orchestra style dramatic instrumental background music.

Sort of like the Midnight Syndicate D&D albumn, but not quite as catching, I think. But I'll play em both during the game.

Huh. Not that I have the Midnight Syndicate album either, but I heard it wasn't all that catching itself. Sort of a movie music soundtrack, but one that you'd find in the New Age section of your music store.

Let's just say I differ with whoever told you that.

Not that it's Wagner or Holst, but it's pretty decent.

Why is that a bad thing? I have the Eberron soundtrack and it sounds great. Its similar to stuff done by David Arkenstone or Kintaro, both good instermental fantasy music artists.

If so, what's the scoop? What kind of soundtrack is it?

You might already know this, but there are three sample tracks at the WotC website in the preview section...
Just thought i'd pass that along, from the sounds of your post, it seems like you havent heard any of it yet.

I haven't actually heard them, because I don't want to have mp3 files on my computer at work, but I've got them coming in tonight at home for a preview, if I can get the connection with the Wizards site to work...

I'm also a huge fan of movie soundtracks, and using them during my game, but maybe I've gotten kinda snooty and elitist about it; there's a lot of great movie soundtracks out there, so I can afford to be picky. ;)

Currently, I mix up Gladiator, Last of the Mohicans, Signs, Sleepy Hollow, Draclua, End of Days and a few others for a real creepy feel. I mix in a bit of Troy and Last Samurai and Crouching Tiger, Hidden Dragon for a slightly exotic feel.

And of course, you can't go wrong with the three Lord of the Rings soundtracks.
