I actually really enjoyed the new Star Wars movie and the revised RPG is frickin awesome. I just got mine in the mail yesterday and my group is drooling over it and Dragonstar like nothing else. We all went to the movie and enjoyed it for what it is and not what we thought it should be and that is how a movie should be viewed, not whether George ruined our vision of the movie, That is like getting mad because LOTR didn't have that inane Tom Bombadil.

The only thing I myself was hoping for was a plot and characters that were worth caring about. I didn't even get that out of the movie. After the Phantom Menace I don't expect much from Star Wars. I do go to movies to enjoy them for what they are, or don't enjoy them for what they lack. I didn't enjoy watching a long toy commercial, which is what I feel I got out of AotC. I refused to buy into the revised SW rpg based on the AotC offering and have also told the group I am not interested in the SW universe at all as far as gaming.

so why exactly do you keep participating in this thread, which is specifically about gaming in the Star Wars universe?

we'll all got it after your first post -- you didn't like the new movie. fine. why do you keep coming back and reiterating that point?

FWIW, i loved Attack of the Clones. i'd say it's now my favorite Star Wars movie of the five.

this weekend, i'm going to pitch a Republic-era all-Jedi campaign to my gaming group.

after seeing the movie and reading the Revised Rulebook (which is worth every penny -- there's so much new and revised stuff in that book to justify the cost), i'm all hyped up for some Star Wars action!!

Terribly sorry for trying to state why I wasn't enthralled with the best thing since sliced bread. I humbly apologize for defending my point of view and I should be flogged for even thinking I could defend my own opinion. I should have just kept my fingers quiet and never considered throwing any contention towards the masses. You are right, the minority should never be vocal or explain themselves.

i apologize -- i didn't mean for you to take my post as an insult to your opinion.

it just seems to me that continually stating you don't like something in the middle of a conversation about why other people *do* like it is, well, a bit counterproductive?

And I also see your point. I was a bit nosy in the thread where I should have just kept on trucking. And so, I shall truck on to other threads. And by no means does my dislike for the last couple of movies reflect how I feel about people who do like them. Everyone is entitled to their own opinion, and as long as the game is enjoyed, that is what counts. Therefore, happy gaming to you in your Star Wars game.
