Are WotC's errata OGL? Would you use a Wikipedia-like version of the d20 SRD?

I've been thinking about creating Yet Another SRD web site, but using Wikipedia's MediaWiki software to make the SRD a living, community project that would include errata, FAQs (official and otherwise), house rules, and suggestions for D&D 4E. (sorry! ;)) And maybe even new content, such as new classes, monsters, spells, etc.

Would WotC allow this? Does WotC update their OGL SRD for errata and FAQs? I can't find a definitive answer on wizards.com. Are WotC's errata OGL? Could I legally publish an SRD web site that included the errata and FAQs?

Do you guys think an unprotected Wiki SRD would even be practical or trustworthy? Wikipedia has tons of editors looking out for troll posts, which can be reverted (because a Wikipedia keeps a history of every web page change). I wonder how much of a problem that would be with the smaller community of D&D fans..?

The Errata and FAQs are not published under the OGL. Reportedly WOTC has sometimes inserted errata into the SRD, but they don't seem to announce when that happens. FAQ stuff never goes into the SRD. You'd have to get WOTC's explicit permission to republish those materials.

www.d20srd.com has included the errata and 3.5E updates from the D&D v.3.5 Update Booklet on their website, despite neither being OGC (they even included the new spell from the booklet, greater status).

Here's a list of the changes. It doesn't seem to say if the site received WotC's permission or not (though somehow I doubt it).

d20srd.org is a great reference, but does it really include the real WotC errata? The "Changes from the Official d20 SRD" page you linked to says: I have made many corrections and v3.0 to v3.5 rules updates that do not appear in any official publication. I read that as meaning that his changes were not from WotC errata..? If the d20srd.org really did include all the errata, a community-maintained Wiki SRD might not be so innovative (though it could include lots of new contributed content).

I read that to mean that his changes were WotC errata, since "official publication" tends to mean "printed books". It helps to actually open the errata files and compare it to what he has there; it all seems to match up.

EDIT: Notice that your post was made at 1:58 AM, and mine comes after it at 1:01 AM! Happy Daylight Saving Time! :D
