D&D 4E Are you a 4e playtester?

Are you a 4e Playtester?

  • Yes. I already am playtesting, or will be soon

    Votes: 4 1.6%
  • I received an email, but had to decline.

    Votes: 3 1.2%
  • I am not playtesting, and was not asked to do so.

    Votes: 249 97.3%

The poll tracks who voted, but not what they voted for. I think. That makes it easier to vote without divulging information; you might be lying, after all.

It actually states in the NDA of WotC
"You may not even vote in an online poll to say you are a play tester or not, especially if the entity known as ENwolrd.com ever has such a poll."

Apparently they were pretty thorough.

Maybe the NDA also states that "no one in the world who hasn't signed this shall reveal (s)he has not been chosen to playtest, because that would pinpoint those who have and cannot say..." :)

I am not playtesting, and would not have volunteered to do so if asked.

I'm looking forward to the game, don't get me wrong. I just couldn't possibly promise a regularly-playing six-person playtesting group as they require, at least not without involving some gamers I know with whom I would very much rather not game, even in a stop-start playtest situation.

All the good people, with whom I want to play, are much too difficult to schedule. I'm failing to get them together for a regular campaign at the moment!

Plus, the regulars here are much less likely to post on the WotC forums and thus be D&D Insider members (especially if post count was considered in the random determination).

Hmm, that does not sound random to me. Would be funny if the Anti 4th ed. posters received a playtest invitation because they posted about 1.000 anti 4th ed. comments. :D

It tracks what you've voted. Look at the poll here - the option(s) you've chosen is written in italics, the other poll options are not.

Cheers, LT.

I've been a software beta-tester and signed an NDA, I recall not telling outsiders what exactly it is I was testing (except my folks who are not into PC's anyway); besides, in my country very few people use that software. If WotC consider playtesters outside N America, I'd love to be one.

I'm afraid that the playtesters have already been selected. Without my insightful contributions the game will suffer, that's for sure... :p

I have the perfect group. 6 people ranging from 22 to mid 40's gaming twice per week, every week. I am an RPGA member and signed up for DnD insider at the earliest opportunity. Of course I'm not a playtester. Stupid random emails.

Of course it wasn't random... Too many people in D&DI, they cannot afford to re-send invitations over and over until enough people say "yes!".

How many player points does it take to win?

Probably not a set number, but the scuttlebutt was more RPGA activity = higher chance to be chosen for the playtest. Wracking my brain to recall where I read that... might've been simple rampant speculation.
