Thanks for the kind words, Ari, Crothian, and others.

It really disappoints me that so many people are getting so hung up on the origin of the book's name. I know I'm biased as one of the authors, but just because the idea for the book came from marketing doesn't mean it's any less of a good idea, or that we worked any less diligently to make it a good book.

Thus far, I'm mostly amused to see that people seem to be falling into two major camps: 1) Those who say, "I'm not going to buy the book because of the name/I hate dragons/I hate magic," and 2) Those who have bought the book and been very pleased with it.

It's amazing how every time this book comes up someone perpetuates the myth that the content only exists because of the name. As the authors have pointed out several (numerous?) times, the content/ideas came indepently of the title. Those of you that don't like products because marketing came up with them must not buy much. In the vast majority of companies in the world, marketing owns everything about what products are made.

How many times do the authors need to defend their content against the name of the book?

I think I'll be putting this on my 'Christmas List of Goodies.'

I don't think I need it right now, but my campaign might be moving more towards focusing on dragons later on, so it might come in handy then. It looks pretty interesting too.

The presence of new Wu-Jen spells (or at least one such) is enough to interest me. :D

Nonetheless, I'm just not a big fan of "Dragon" stuff; for instance, I wish at least one of the two D&D Icons minis had been some other Gargantuan or Colossal creature. I'll probably pass on this book because it's a ways outside my main area of interest.

Dragons in my campaign world don't cast spells. Therefore, a book about Dragon Magic has no place in my campaign. I pass.

The book has a few magical spells, but they are not limited to just dragons. The book is not about the literal definition of Dragon Magic. Remember, we can't judge a book by its title. :D

- Draconomicon - don't have, don't want
- Races of the Dragon- don't have, don't want
- Dragons of Faerun - don't have, don't want
- Dragon Magic - don't have, don't want

- Gargantuan Black Dragon mini - don't have, would like to but probably won't
- Colossal Red Dragon mini - don't have, would like to but probably won't
- War of the Dragon Queen minis - I have some may get some more
- Rage of Dragon novels - don't have, don't want

I buy maybe 3-4 books a year, this is low on my "must have" scale. I get what I think will aid my game, dragons & magic are not on my top list, both together are even lower. The next book I will probably get is the Fiendish Codex.
