Are Your Games Rated G, PG, R, X, etc.?

Ideally it's PG-13 (as LotR). In practice, with the number of times our campaigns slip into evil, we're R more often than anything else.

Usually somewhere around PG-13 with elements of R. Violence, crude humor, occasional drug use by NPC's, and inferenced sexual content. It would probably get an "R" rating if the MPAA was feeling snarky, but if they were in a good mood it would be PG-13.

I was originally going to say PG-13, but as I sat back and thought about everything that's actually happened in the game, I think R is probably a better descriptor. There's been torture, some seriosu forays into "adult" situations that led to a whole host of issues, a lot of violence, some poor language (In character - out of character, swearing is prevalent), and a whole host of sexual overtones that bleed into almost every session.

Not the way I originally intended it, but it's been a satisfying story from day 1, owing much to the maturity and creativity of my players.

WHores and Ale.

i spent 500gp on WHore and Ale one session. ;)

my current character also... using the PHB definition of his race... loves to collect things... in this case trophies of his victories over his enemies.

i wear the skin and parts of things i've killed. and make sure to get as gruesome as i can in hacking things to bits....

you can read about the exploits of Fiddle "Dragonslayer" Skipstone in the story hour in my sig. along with the rest of the party.

my game tends to get fairly violent - gruesome descriptions of critical hits (your mighty swing slams the defribilator [undead lightning sorcerer] in to the wall and you follow it up with a gruesome kick to the chest - you feel brittle ribs snapping under your steel-clad foot) and terrible BBEG action - concentration camps/mass public execution of the psionic minorities and the like.

As to the whole sex thing - I'm not making "turned-on" fortitude saves and "faked orgasm" bluff checks in a room full of guys - its all off camera.

So, I'd say PG-13 to R for violence, N/A for sex.

Never higher than "R" for language and violence, PG-13 for sexual content and drug use. The reasons for that probably lie in the quote at the bottom of the OP - to roleplay to deeply certain aspects of the characters lives would seem rather pathetic. My campaigns are action and mysteries with a bit of horror.

Yes, things like how good was it, did it rock your world aka you are now in LOVE, going to be a parent, you got the rot, you may need to talk to Bob and see what he is taking...all private and not to be shared with the table.

Now, if they find out...

My games are definately rated X! They are filled with gratuitous sex and violence! Players routinely make use of the Book of Vile Darkness and the Book of Erotic Fantasy. I describe all the violence in graphic detail; I don't "fade to black", I make players role-play out their (rather frequent) sex scenes in detail. As a DM, I read Hustler Magazine and watch the Faces of Death videos for inspiration! Plots revolve around topics such as necrophilia, S&M, sacrifices, and prostitution! Me and the players revel in how low we can get the game to go!!! ;)

Seriously, I would say that my game is rated PG to PG-13. Sure there is violence (it is D&D after all), but I don't usually describe it in graphic detail. Sex is virtually non-existant (although when present, I "fade to black"). The rating may vary time to time, but generally I try to keep my game relatively "clean". (In fact in my last gaming group, the DM had a 3 year old son running around, and didn't want the players getting too explicit.)
