Would it be okay for a commercial to portray women as clueless, shallow, disgusting or just plain dimwitted? Then why is it okay with men? White men, particularly.

Actually I think a decent number of commercials do this - mostly beer commercials...or GoDaddy.com...

I like (that's SARCASM) the new Vermont Teddy Bear commercial I saw the other day. They billed their bears as "The gift that keeps giving, so you can keep getting." This was of course after showing three "HAWT BABES" melting over their recently gifted bears and looking at their guys longingly, followed by the three guys exchanging high fives, and giving that knowing "we're gonna git some, we're gonna git some" look to each other.

The funniest thing about that commercial was the "It's about the same price as a dozen roses" and while Adam Corolla was saying that, the guy was clicking on their website and the cost of the teddy bear he was buying was $75. I can get cheaper roses in my local grocery store.

The hidden purpose of all these commercials is to have you roll Will saving throws. Any time you fail one, you lose Wisdom points. Fortunately, I throw away my TV so long ago. :)

About diamond rings to give to woman when asking for marriage. There is a justice in this world: Somewhere in the US there is a businessman who makes industrial/false diamonds which are better and more real than natural diamonds. And of course much cheaper. Just a few years, maybe a dozen years, and De Beers has gone bankrupt. :)
