Ars Magica: Lumen Montis, A Covenant in the Alps [OOC]

Covenant name

I was just thinking about the covenant name. Tsaran is very interested in truth, and, IC, began considering a variation on the themes we've been covering.

"Light seems to be a common motif among the names we have proposed. I appreciate the metaphor of shining the light into dark places, but what of truth? We seek to discover truths and to tell truths. Perhaps we should call ourselves Truth and Light or, as Light came first in our thoughts and deliberations, Light —"

OOC: This is when it hit me.

"— and Truth, or Light of Truth."

OOC: <snicker> Never mind. Besides, what would the other covenants think we were like with a name like that?

Hi Malacat :)

Grad school craziness and my newness at this game conspired to make posting here...a little difficult :) I shall strive to do better :)

Anyway, yeah, that would be fine. Celeste is something of a recluse, and would be highly ineffectual if she did not have some space of her own that she can arrange how she likes, but some collaborative labs would be fine, and indeed useful.

Are we using the extended book rules from Wizard's Grimoire? The possibility of glosses changes the cost-benefit equation considerably.

I would like to add some sort of glossing rules. However, I'm pretty sure the gloss rules in WG are broken; they make it too easy to pump up high level, low quality books into high level, high quality.

I'm thinking about how to fix those rules.

I'm also considering including some sort of commentary rules, but I'm not sure whether I'll use the rules from WG. I'll post when I have rules you can use; in the meantime, don't worry about it. :)

Please post ASAP whether you want to be included in the primus lottery.

I'll be posting another message (maybe tomorrow?) laying out tasks that need to be done for the next season and options.

I did not include a description of the resolution of the terms of Lemannus debate because that negotiation should be handled by the new Primus, or by the Primus's designee.

When you talk about expelling a member, you say unanimous minus one, with the current member abstaining. Could you make clear whether for purposes of majority, and unaniminity, what abstentions do?

Sorry, I thought I was clear. Abstentions don't count. So unanimous minus one means "at most one no vote".

BTW, we can edit the charter if people want. I was trying to create a reasonable draft based on people's statements, and I don't want it to become a focus for more gameplay, but if people want to suggest minor edits here, that would be fine.

I'm going to be doing some edits tonight; I realized that I left out a mention of the redcaps.

Marcus is willing to take on that role.

CP, perhaps you could specify which thread you want us to post to when you call for a specific post? I'm not sure if I ought to be doing this in or out of character.
