Interesting, but a cure critical wounds is 4d8 + 7 = 25 HP on average for a 7th level character (when this spell becomes availible). A 7th level wiz has 4 + 6d4 + 7*CON = 18 + 6*CON mod... I still think the range of situations where this spell will be useful is extremely limited. Currently playtesting a slightly different version that allows the wizard to use the cures on anyone during the duration. However, that version uses a mechanic I do not wish to discuss on the board at this time.
