I have a good idea of it but I leave the management of them to the player.

If a player is new or even new to the class I will give tips or reminders early on but after level 5 they are on their own.

I've got too much other stuff to manage.

My players are my references on their characters. I don't pretend I will know every feature for every character better than the player of that character. The exception is when I'm running teaching games, but those are usually at low levels.

That said, I've watched them been played, I've read the books, I've given out the items. I usually have a good idea about it all.
