Aspects of D&D that have made you fed up?

That it's impossible to reach high levels using the given XP rules if you only play once a month? That Elminster gained 25th level by exterminating 90% of the dragon population, one a day?
12th level *is* high level. Time to manage a dominion and retire from constant adventuring.

That it's time to switch to a system that is better suited for your preferences?
If your preference is to play a super-hero like character, yes.

The D&D game (BECMI) could accommodate you, for example.

The assumption, whether explicit or implied, that player characters should be able to buy or otherwise acquire any particular (magic) item, somewhere.

Magic Item wish lists. That and treasure parcels, and the effect this had on my player group, was devestating.

Some wanted to make lists and have clearly defined treasure so that they didn't stay behind the curve, and other wanted the mystery of not knowing what came ahead, treasure wise.

We ran D&D4 for over a year, had a lot of fun with it but eventually, we split the group into three groups.
