Assault on Stormbringer Castle (D&D 3.5) [OOC]

Three hurricanes have ravaged the extreme southern coast of Varisia in the last three weeks, leaving behind death and destruction on a great scale. As the locals bury their dead and make plans to rebuild, they are fearful that more storms might be coming. The leaders of Argalis, one of the towns affected, know that the hurricanes were sent by the storm giant Stozari Stormbringer for failing to pay her annual "good weather" tribute. The leaders of Argalis, along with those in the other towns devastated by the hurricanes want to put an end to the storm giantess forever and have thus begun a search for a band of adventures willing to take the job.

Looking for 4-6 players to play through the Goodman Games Dungeon Crawl Classic adventure DCC #21: Assault on Stormbringer Castle. If you've read the adventure, please do not sign up to play as it would ruin your enjoyment of it.

PCs will start at 12th level.

32 points for attributes using point-buy method (*don't forget the 3 stat increases for 4th, 8th and 12th level*)

Max hit points for 1st level and then the following per level based on hit die type:
d4 = 3 per level
d6 = alternating 4 and 5 per level
d8 = 6 per level
d10 = alternating 7 and 8 per level
d12 = 9 per level

Starting gold will be 75,000 of which no item more expensive than 40,000 gp may be purchased.

No evil alignments please.

Setting will be Varisia from the Pathfinder series from Paizo Publishing but will have little impact on the adventure except for providing some flavor and a pantheon of deities. The free download of the player's guide to the setting can be found here.

Allowed classes and races are from the PHB and prestige classes from the DMG only. The races of Varisia are essentially the same as in the PHB with a few minor exceptions (like taller elves, and gnomes that are more fey in nature) but these minor differences are detailed in the Pathfinder Player's Guide linked above. Core classes are the same as the PHB. The player's guide has some new equipment and feats that might be of interest as well.

Looking at the setting map in the player's guide, the adventure takes place along the southern coast near Palin's Cove and the Fenwall Mountains. Argalis is a coastal town at the foot of the Fenwall Mountains.

I'll accept the first 5 or 6 players that express interest as long as the first 5 or 6 are diverse enough in class choice. I would like a good balance of classes including at least one divine caster, one arcane caster, one rogue and at least one fighter type. A brief background is required. You can use the map in the player's guide for locations names.

I'd like players that can post approximately 3 times per week. More is fine but an average of a post every other day is a good speed for me. Players should be willing and able to plan strategically and discuss tactics or how to approach certain situations or encounters and stealth may come in handy at least some of the time.

i'm in!

I'm looking at being the friendly neighborhood cleric guy.

will determine the race and stuff in a bit.

actually, I now believe that he'll be a cleric-3/sorcerer-3/mystic theurge-6

i'm stuck between human, gnome, and halfling....

After some thought, I will be bringing in a concept from a face to face. Half-orc Barbarian -1/Cleric -11.

I would like to play a Dwarven Fighter. It's been awhile since I've been a melee type guy and it seems fun. I will download the players guide then edit this post with the background attached.

[sblock=background]

Kulgen Torkeln ventured to Palin's Cove as a hired guard for a merchant caravan. He was raised in Janderhoff, and had been a guard for the caravans since he before his beard was long enough to be considered a man.

I can go into more detail, but I didn't want to overdo it since you said "brief" lol :)

You can go into more detail if you'd like or not. Either is fine. By brief I meant no longer than a paragraph, although if anyone is feeling particularly creative, a longer background is okay.

Okay, so far we have a fighter, a cleric and possibly a rogue or arcanist or both. Additional characters from this point on can go in just about any direction as long as we have divine, arcane, rogue and fighter covered.

Hello, well I have read tha t adventure indeed and would love to play!

I could take the arcanist spot, with a human mage, if shayuri wants the rouge. If not, a paladin may be a good choice. A dwarf of moradin.
