Aussie gamers - where do you buy your stuff from?

Both the Tin Soldier and Games Paradise are always chock full of the latest and greatest so you wont have any issues on missing out.

Also incase you didnt know, just across from Games Paradise, Kings Comics have opened up a brand spanking new store. :D

Don't know about you but that lady at GP is just plain mean... I shop across the street, down a block, at Napolean's Bookstore. A little less variety, but the lady there is an avid gamer and a heck of a lot nicer. It's not a dedicated RPG shop, but they do have most/all of the new stuff as it comes in.

Which would you say is best Sulimo? Games Paradise seems to be a little more expensive than MilSims, and I couldn't see anything about postage (which Wormhole games has for free).

Games Paradise does offer free shipping on orders over 50$.

As for whats best, well Games Paradise is a little cheaper and quicker for some things...like Sword & Sorcery products. But they dont update the shopping part of their website very quickly, which means you have to ring 'em to order new items.

With Milsims you have to pay postage, but range and stock is probably better, plus they have specials all the time.

Wormhole Games is cheap, with free shipping with orders over $30, plus being a small outfit they are a bit more personal.

So, I guess it all depends on what you want.

Mind Games in Melbourne. If they don't have it, then I generally order it over the internet ... usually direct from the supplier.

Yeah I work close by to Games Paradise so that's my main store (and yeah - the lady there is kinda crabby but for some reason she has always been nice when I've talked to her...must be the ol' Yeebarr charm!)

My only beef with Games Paradise is sometimes I've asked if they have stuff in stock and they look at me blankly like the game (or at least the games company) never existed.

Two of the books I'm specifically looking for are "Oathbound" and "Heroes of High Favour (or 'favor' - lazy yanks!:p )".

Has anybody gotten a hold of them? (I must admit I haven't been in the store for a couple of weeks)

Games Paradise has by far the best range if you want to look at products before you buy, otherwise I'd go for Milsims. Myself I've never had problems with the service at GP or the postage at Milsims. Also, Borders in Pitt St have a small roleplaying section.

Yeebar, exactly what part of SW Sydney are you in? Anywhere near Fairfield?

Balmain boy Snoweel here. (Where there aren't enough trees for bushfires to be a problem.

Games Paradise (home of the crabby old expat-Pommy sheila) has the best range and the newest stuff, and really, is an extra dollar or two going to make much difference?

Otherwise try the Tin Soldier on York St (or is it on Kent? The street directly parallel to George Street on the other side of Pitt.)

Those are the only two places worth looking in, and postal orders are too risky, not to mention the wait.

I've never been into Kings Comics before (although I have a friend that gets "Knights of the Dinner Table" for me, through them). Do they have an RPG section?

I dont think they are really risky, in my experience of using mail-order since the early 90's, having only one item slightly damaged (which was replaced free of charge).

As for the wait, I'm actually pretty happy with Australia Post, with even the orders from Melbourne to Newcastle taking only 2 days normally. Plus, MilSims for instance does offer express/courier services.
