[B.A.D.D.] - Iconic dragons

Dumb dragon question - Do dragons automatically speak any languages besides Draconic? Do they have to spend skill points to speak Common or other languages?

Finally, if the answer is that they only speak Draconic by default, should iconics be able to speak Common? To encourage roleplaying, I think they should be able to at some age...

Thanks, I'm just finishing up the very young blue.

Charles - I got it - WIll update soon :)

I have no idea what a Slacerian dragon is, but it sounds pretty cool.

A monster of Krusty's that got published in one of the Creature Collections. Physically weaker than many dragons, but its single horn acts as a Rod of Absorption, and it breaths a cone of Mordenkainen's Disjunction.

Slacerian dragon sounds very cool. Me likee

As far as languages, a quick glance at the SRD shows that with the exception of the White, all dragons have an INT modifier of +1 or more by the time they are young, granting them one bonus language.

I think it would be reasonable for nearly all dragons to spend the skill points to speak common earlier if needed.

Ah yes. I knew there was something I was forgetting. This is a classic example of a mistake that someone who DMs exclusively makes. I haven't made up a PC in so long, it slipped my mind that you get bonus languages for high Intelligence and don't have to use skill points. With NPCs IMC I don't even think about the rules, I just decide what they can speak. Duh.

Thanks!
