Back Off Man... I'm A Scientist [Ghostbusters RPG]

Dan puts his quick-change skills from shows in college to use, and is in his jumpsuit all speedy-like. He kind of slumps as he realizes how low he is in the selection order. As the others pick, he only half-realizes he's mumbling "don't take the camcorder," over and over again, nervously rubbing his hands together and trying to stare at other pieces of equipment like they're the best thing ever, studiously avoiding looking at, you know, the camcorder.

OOC: As a player, I have no overwhelming need to wield the camcorder, so feel free to have your characters take it if they'd be so inclined. I'll have just as much fun playing Dan's reaction to whoever gets it as I would with him having the thing. ;)

Sara grabs the Electronic Paranormal Reference Book.

She then suits up. Great, now I'm stuck wearing my best dress underneath this suit.

Elyssa can see non-materilized ghosts and sense icky things, so the PKE meter and goggles should go to someone who can't so she chooses the proton pack and ghost trap. She also gratefully changes into a suit, discarding her old clothes. (While in the bathroom.)

"Everyone ready? Let's go!" Elyssa says eagerly.

OOC: Frukathka you can only select one of your two items at this time. You get first choice in round one then last choice in round two. So you need to decide which item you want your first selection to be (either the electronic book or the goggles).

As far as the rest of you... please don't select items until the people ahead of you have selected. Because if this means you gets stuck with items you don't want or don't think you'll need... tough. :) That's Ghostbusters for you. Negotiation is nice and all... but this game is about fun crap happening and not about character optimization. Heh heh.

And kirinke, just so you know... your "sense icky things" skill will work thusly... if there's anything icky in the area you'll get to make a skill check against a target number I'll select, but if you fail the roll you won't sense anything. So the goggles and the PKE meter actually might hold some use for you because they are much stronger that your skill is. So you don't have to have them, but you don't need to discard them out of hand. Their power will stack with your "sense icky things" skill.

Vince hands the hand-held electronic book to Sara and smiles.

'Not surprised you wanted this thing. Have fun with it. All the guides are cross-referenced with each other and individual entries and items are linked for easy finding.'

She looks over at Dan, who is trying his best to not look at the camcorder, and Elyssa who is eyeing the PKE Valence meter and the Ecto-goggles. She shrugs and then turns to the big man and says...

'All right... Mister Braunschwagger. Your selection. What do you want? And William... you're next.'

ooc: sorry, real life was bugging me and I didn't realize we had started

Gina had been quietly sizing up the marks, er, other recruits, and staying far away from the psi zapper. She looks a little skeptical of the jump suits, as they would probably fit her about as well as they would the child. "Perhaps I could just stop by my place and pick up some sweats?" She picks up a trap and then settles for a cell phone, feeling loaded down enough as it is.

Vince looks at Gina for a few seconds when she mentions she could go home and get some sweatpants to wear instead. Suddenly a light turns on inside her head and she exclaims...

'No! Wait! I think I know where we have a pair that might fit.'

She leaves the storeroom/lab as the group waits for Braunschwagger to make his first selection of item, and she goes up one more flight to the third floor and starts rummaging through a box labeled "Contaminated". Of course, with everybody downstairs nobody sees where she gets the jumpsuit from, so all they know is that Vince tosses a magenta colored jumpsuit to Ravensoul and that it fits her perfectly.

'There we go! The whole team is clothed in official Ghostbusters attire. Very good. Now Xander... have those synapses snapped into place yet for you? Ready to make a decision on what piece of equipment you want? We've got a job for you folks already and we need to get you out there door. Incidentally... one of you DOES have a valid driver's license and can driver a Hummer, correct?'

"I know how to operate trucks, cars, motorscylces, helicopters and even cargo trucks," Sara says. "Do you need copies of my licenses?"

"Good to hear," Dan says, sighing a bit more than is probably required to convey his relief. "I'm a public transport guy, myself. I people watch way too much to be trusted behind the wheel."
