Bad Sequel film-fest

Beastmaster 2: The original was pretty cheesy, but the sequel... oh man...

The Neverending Story 2: When I was a kid, I loved the Neverending Story. The sequel lacked the magic and wonder of the original, and was instead cheesy and uninteresting.

Renegade The-Film-That-Shall-Not-Be-Named? Is it anything like the Phantom Edit? As in, is it a fan work that chops out all the rightfully hated bits (all the stuff about Planet Ziest would be a good start...)

Demiurge out.
H2: Renegade Edition was an actual cut of the film, by the studio folks, which removes all references to the planet Zeist and updated the FX. I've heard mixed reviews, mostly that the new plot still wasn't coherent and the new FX weren't blended in well... but that it was much better for not having Zeist in it. ;)

Oh, I had forgotten about MI:2. Thank you for reminding me of this overrated piece of bad acting, bad directing and bad film making rolled in one. OK, it does not top the film not to be named.
How about Terminator 3, or is this considered not to be a direct sequel?

Starship Troopers 2.

Worst. Evar.

We argued a bit about this, but (a) I thought Starship Troopers sucked, so the sequel sucking wasn't a shock, and (b) it was a direct-to-video release, so it doesn't qualify.

It was very, very, bad though.

Escape From LA
Saw this in the theaters. Painful. So, I thought, I've got to refresh my memory, and cleanse, because Escape from New York was good. So I rented it after not having seen it in many years.

And realized it wasn't good, either. It just happened to be . . . first, I guess.

Nostalgia really does make movies better.
