It's not too bad. The pit fiend has DR 15/silver and good and my players beat it mainly with weapons.

Of course, 16th-level players can really dish out damage, provided none of them is a monk or swashbuckler.

Swashbuckler leading into Bladesinger isn't that bad. Int bonus to both damage rolls and AC is some nice synergy. Add wizard spellcasting to that, and it's cake. Throw on a few levels of duelist...

Anyway, single-class swashbucklers are terrible, but those first 3 levels make for some mighty fine multiclassing. Especially because the skill selection makes qualifying for certain PrCs that much easier.

If I am not mistaken, a Rakshasa lich should have DR 15/magic and good and piercing and bludgeoning.

Very few attack forms are both piercing and bludgeoning. I think a bite natural attack is, and a morning star. But they also have to be good aligned attacks.

Anyways, beware the Rashasa lich!

And Liches have DR of Magic and Bludgeoning.

And this reminds me of my fave re-typing of that DR.

The lich-queen of the Githyanki has DR X/Magic Blunt (not magic bludgeoning).

So... the party went to waterdeep, and then even to Skullport, and they found some magic pipeweed, but not a magic blunt.

That's interesting :) I suppose it might be better if 2 mutually exclusive attributes would work as an "OR" on the damage reduction. I don't know if it's possible for example to have a combination which gives you DR X/Good AND Evil, but that should automatically be treated as Good OR Evil or otherwise it may be impossible to overcome.

How so? A fiend with a Holy weapon would do it.

Aah... ok :) I was trying to think if a weapon could be holy and unholy at the same time, or a creature's nat attacks, and obviously I didn't think about an outsider of a type wielding a weapon of the other type :p Probably not a very common thing, but not more rare than a creature with both types either.
