Batman Begins Teaser/Trailer/Preview

Nightfall

Sage of the Scarred Lands
So what did everyone think of that preview? Me I was like "Oh my freaking god!!!"

Parts I thought were great. Batman signalling the bats and flying down among them.

Him strolling through (I guess) Arkham and then blowing out the wall while the two inmates looked on.

The interactions between Bale and Caine. I mean THIS is what an Alfred and Bruce/Batman relationship SHOULD be like.

Batman taking down those thugs while Katey Holmes is like "Yeah I'm the bad chick!!!" :D

That was probably the funniest part.

Oh and the Nightmare the Scare crows uses. Wow. :) Good stuff.

Overall I went from "This looks pretty damn decent. I'll see it" to like "Okay I must see this movie like 10 times!!!"

 :p

I've been "This looks pretty cool, Year One was a great Batman story", to "Look at that stupid car. This is going down the same road and they're going to get really fancy and stupid again.", to "Bruce Wayne training in stealth and distraction? Interesting, too bad all that sword work is never going to see any play. Maybe this won't suck."

I liked the 10 minute preview, though it had a little too much of Batman just walking. Through well lit hallways, what have you. Batman shouldn't just walk. That doesn't inspire fear. He should stalk, or stride, or sprint, or just appear where he wants to be through stealth or some such.

Minor nitpick, that I guess comes down to, I'm not feeling Christian Bale's prescence when he's in the suit.

Give it time.

At least he's not acting goofy like a certain OTHER batman of the "I killed the Franchise!" fame.

Also would say that there's nothing wrong with walking for Batman. Terminator walked, and people STILL feared him. :p :)

Noticed that too.

But then I guess they couldn't get Conroy to cover that up for him...as everyone would expect that. :p :)

In any case I'll manage so long as a) cool stuff like the bats keeps going, b) fighting is better than any of the Batmans before it. and c) More "mental" stuff by Bale and the director.

It doesn't help that I see Jack Kelly when I look at him as Wayne instead of John Preston. But it doesn't matter. Like I'm not going to see it. :) Just like I'm going to see D&D 2. Regardless of whether they show me something that makes me think I won't slash my wrists or not.

I like my Dark Knight dark. Dark and terrifying. :)

I for one think the swordplay will definitely be important.

He has endured a number of duels with Ra's al'Ghul in the comics, why not here?

And the batmobile still bugs me, but I understand the need for an urban assault vehicle. Nothing else has seemed a bit disappointing (I'll have to hear the Batman voice more to swear to that fact, though.)

Charlie and the Chocolate Factory looks like a complete mockery of what it should be. Blast! I was looking forward to it, until I saw the previews.
