My only concern with the theory proving true and the continuation of such a situation is that it displaces The Joker as the premiere villain in the mythos from a movie perspective... Although, if Goyer continues to write the scripts, The Joker would appear in two films.
Ducard was (in comics) a (iirc) french bounty hunter, who taught Bruce detective field skills (Bruce studied criminology under disguise at the university). The assassin skills were imparted by Cain (adoptive father of current Batgirl Cassandra Cain).
