Before it is released: things you want to see in the 2nd D&D movie!

A real dungeon crawl with a PARTY. Not like the first movie when we get to the dungeon, so lets have just the thief go in. :\

I want to see a Gelatinous Cube. That's my only major criteria. If there's Gelatinous Cube in the movie, I'll be happy. I don't care if the 2nd D&D movie is a costume drama set in Victorian England starring Hugh Grant. Including a gelatinous cube will make the movie good. :)

Well, as long as it dissolves Hugh Grant...

Demiurge out.

The words "Directed by Peter Jackson" as the credits roll.

Or Martin Campbell ... or Gore Verbinski. Plus, put the amount of resources and money into that would make it a good movie. Hire a writer that respects and enjoys writing for the fantasy genre. One that also has proven himself or herself.

But none of this will ever happen. Is it me, or if I do an IMDB search its says USA on it? As in, its just a made for tv movie being put out by USA channel?

The chance for a Dungeons & Dragons movie is dead in my opinion. The only way we can get what we really want is if someone was willing to take another story setting from with the D&D list of properties and make a movie off that. That way the public doesn't associate it with being the same thing. And it would also be considered a separate production as well. But I'll be shocked if even that wouldn't get messed up too.

Man I'm so negative sometimes.

100% agreed, and even more if that's possible! ;) Of course, we want to see the cube dissolve an unsuspecting victim (the girl who played the wizard in the first movie would be the ideal choice IMO); and we want nice sounds made by the cube when it mops the floor and absorbs said girl. :D

I'm sceptical. The film has a far lower budget than we previously thought ($6 million - which is about double Starship Troopers II; American Psycho II cost $10 million). I'd be surprised if anyone can do a decent film of the sort they are attempting with that sort of money. I'm not hopeful. Mirrormask is $4 million, but they're going for a very stylisted approach.
