Chain Shirt has always been my "go to" armor for Adventurer style characters. It provides solid protection, can be worn under clothes, doesn't restrict movement, and isn't heavy enough to cause fatigue. Its not suited for pure warfare, but is a staple for anyone just meandering around the rougher sections of the city.

Chain mail - hands down, for it comes with automatic party inclusion following up important letters passed down from others and needing your uttermost involvement to pass around as well and be part of this fabulous chain mail party

Ring mail is also absolute best, for it comes with built in automatic audible alarm when you get a message. Also come with silent alarm to vibrate instead in options.

If you forward the chain mail to 5 other people, good things will happen to you.
