I voted for the harpists. I just LOVED their routine, and their awesome music. I bought the soundtrack, but every time I listen to it I need to find a new place to live.

Yep, the musicians were great, and just all the little shout-outs to other martial arts films (the harpists to Deadful Melody; Cooley, Donut, and Tailor were all from '70s and '60s martial arts films like 8 Diagram Pole Fighter (literally for Donut - the actor who played him was also the lead in 8 Diagram Pole Fighter), and in the Chinese version, Landlord and Landlady are the protagonists of Heaven Sword and Dragon Saber (changed to Paris and Helen of Troy in the English Subtitled version). All we were really missing is a guest appearance by Bolo Leung.

Yeah, that was why I loved that movie so much. The shout-outs from Stephen Chow to those older movies really made up for the fact that when I first heard of "Kung Fu Hustle," I was expecting dancing, not a con man. :p
