Actually in terms of longevity David Tennant might well stick around for a while as he is supposed to be more of a fan than Chris Eccleston.

There is still quite a bit of continuity (not that the series doesn't have its past problems with it - after all this time and that many writers there are bound to be holes), but it has been understated. Main worry is no more Dalek stories ever?

Soooo hot. Want to touch the heiny.

I might keep watching...but I had no idea until just now how integral Piper's presence was to my enjoyment of the show.

I did mention the heiny, right?

Not so. I really care about Doctor Who, but I'm not a pirate. I'll wait patiently until I can purchase the DVD set.

That's a noble and admirable way of doing things, but they aren't for sale at least on this side of the pond. Or even broadcast over here. So you're not exactly "stealing" something any more than if you had a friend in the UK send you video tapes of the episodes. So I don't really view this as a moral issue. If you didn't buy them when they came out over here, then you might have a case for it, but we are talking about freely broadcast material. Not someone's direct to video release.

It is possible that they are including the old continuity, nothing so far has precluded it AFAIK.

Of course, the old contintuity also had its fair share of contradictions, IIRC.

So that while the old continuity may have been the past at one point, that past/future universe no longer exists.

As the Doctor himself said, history is in a state of constant flux.
