Mardigan touches his chin in thought, " Sir, How long would it take to get from Korth to Rekkenmark, by say horse? I am an heir of House Orien and this is an important pick-up/delivery mission from a private employer and I need to get to Rekkenmark post-haste.

"Well, there's a lightning rail between the two, and that takes about <insert time from the Explorers handbook that I don't have on me>. If you want to brave the cliff, it's a couple of hundred feet and angles outward, so you'll be climbing upside down for a while."

OOC: Sorry, don't have the handbook near me to check the time.

"If we boat a day or two north, might we find an easier place to climb the cliffs?"

It's Rio's opinion that purchasing the correct equipment and patiently working at climbing the cliff will be the fastest way to their destination. He'll be a bit surprised if the cliff is equally difficult to climb at all points, though.

"Oh, I think there's occasionaly some Airship traffic there too, but that's pretty rare. You'd probably have to speek to my boss about that."

OOC: I'm just going on what the book says, saying that the Cliffs make water traffic nigh impossable to Rekkenmark (Page 181-182 ECS)

ooc: Adventurers do the impossible all the time! The 'nigh impossable' barely even counts as a dare.

I'm still game for the cliffs, figuring an adventurer can cross many obstacles that normal commerce wouldn't even consider, but Rio suggests taking ship up the Karrn River as a possible alternative. A small craft could probably take the group pretty far up the river, leaving their destination slightly to their west.

Khoros takes one look at the cliffs and smiles. "I could maybe do it."

"but we're not in hurry. We should take boat - safer, I think. For the cub, at least."

"Yes." Kenn amplifies.
"It's not that I disapprove of noble and heroic deeds, old tod. If there was a girl, I'd be first to call for the pitons and whatnot. And I suppose if we had to fight some sort of demon blighter, we'd all have our souls pretty much commended to the glory of the jolly old flame anyway, so what's one more spot of danger?"
He pauses.
"But this is for beer -- and I should remind you that even if we can get ourselves up the cliffs we can't really get the beer down that way. Unless you're going to try chucking it in the river and floating it off somewhere, which seems a bit unhelpful."
