BLEB1: Beer Run (stonegod - Designated Driver)

Gathering up the papers, Kuther tries to piece together what is going on while the others look nervously at the machine and dormant warforged. It takes him a while to put it all together, but what he finds is disturbing.

...Orders were clear: Find non-"traditional" remains to base necromantic forces on due to lack of replenishment. The damn Cyrans and their golem-men. Tadeusz had thought he had something with soul-grafting the dormant remains of those abominations. Hope to have something soon...

...They brains have their machine now. Give me the creeps, and I've been in the Bone Legions. Just looking at it raises my hackles. When they brought in that weird stone Mad Tadeusz insisted would power it, I sear I almost soiled myself, and there wasn't even a reason!...
Researcher Tadeusz Dzraj said:
... Fourth iteration a failure: The binding process fails with conscious war golem. Noted apparent fear and pain response from subject; indicates potential sentience simulated during the Creation Forge process. Removed head for further examination. Seems the sigul has some effect here...
Researcher Jerzy Babic said:
... Success, of a sort. Apparently, subjects must be near destruction before the binding can take place. However, the process is unstable for some reason, as if there is a conflict with the bound necromantic animation and the previous golem's existence. Unusual. Read about similar cases when the Seventh Legion attempted undead revivication on not quite dead subjects, but that should not be the case here. These things were never alive...
Sgt. Lech Walesc said:
... Three more desertions. With all the weird things that machine is giving off, and the piteous look of those... things, I'm not surprised. Surprised something else has happened; damn thing almost blew last week. But damn Tadeusz wants to push at least 100 before the week's end...

OOC: There are some sketchy details on the construction that folks need to try to make heads or tail of. Can I have some Arcana, Religion, and Disable Device checks?

Mardigan takes a hard look at the papers Leave it to Karnath to screw up the world. First they are the aggressors of a war that cost me a homeland and know undead warforged. It makes me sick. I still have no idea how any of what they described functions.

Looking over the notes, Rio nods.

"See, this is my point exactly. People get hung up on the form life takes, and don't give it the respect that it is due. Warforged are alive. If the original spirit that animated them, whatever its source, is still in there, we ought to try and save it if we can find a way."

Kenn's nose twitches violently.
"I'm embarrassingly ignorant about the mechanics of this, but I can at least read."
He points at Khuther's handful of papers.

"That machine is clearly doing something sick and wrong to warforged, even by my undemanding standards. I suggest we shut it down with a blast disc and a few dozen vials of alchemist's fire. Failing that, it sounds like it's fuelled by a strange creepy rock: removing it should take the fuel out of the forge."

He looks around. "I quite understand if nobody wanted to mention they were carrying a blast disc: no harm done and we won't ask any questions."

Mardigan laughs heartily at his friends joke If only. I only carry blast disks when I expect to be blowing things up, not making routine deliveries.

Khuther Qbyer Dwarf Sorcerer

'Seems to me this is a wicked place and constructs' 'to much people is mad' Khuther roll the papers and stuff them into his case 'Im afraid im not near to comprehend how these things work' 'or how we can release the forged that is trapped in there' ' suggestions?'

Kenn sidesteps towards the strange machine, one eye and his crossbow trained on the glass door.

"Kuther, do you have a spell that seals doors? I'd be much happier if those things couldn't casually come out to play."

Khuhter sighs and look at Kenn 'Well not precisely that' 'when i was at school i wanted to learn that but i concentrated on other matters of magic' he lifts his sleeves and shows his dragonmarks 'but i can put a ward on the door to set of a alarm' 'not that it will prevent anyone to cross...''should i?'
