Blood and Fists news

Yeah...kinda like the Badass Barrroom Brawler v. the School of Hard Knocks Master are two different approaches to a similar idea.

The guy who's deadly with any weapon and his buddy, the guy who can turn anything into a deadly weapon, are both good character concepts.

In lieu of masteries, you could have feats --- Weapons Versatility [penalties reduced by two] and Improved Weapons Versatility [penalties reduced by another two]...although that sort of overwhelms Exotic Weapon Proficiency. You could either make it a three-feat chain [-1, -1, -2] or add a prereq [proficiency in two Archaic Weapon groups and/or two Exotic Weapons?]

Man, I'm ready to go home and work on some characters for the next one-shot...

Awesome :)

I originally allowed the weapon master class to be used for Improvised Weapons. I might still go back to that. I had a player in playtest attempt to emulate Jackie Chan that way. The other players called him the human blender. Ah good fun.

There are going to be a lot of new styles in here... a *lot* from what I've been doing so far.

Im also working on some logisitcal ideas to make this book as easy to use as I can. Since many of the maneuvers will be from a different book, expect to see lists of all maneuvers that use a new style as the style prerequisite.

Bonus time!

Here's a martial arts style that was originally presented in the War on Terror supplement for Blood and Guts.

Police Combat Training (Martial Arts Style)
The character has been trained in police-style self-defense.
Prerequisite: Combat or Defensive Martial Arts
Effect: You are proficient in punching attacks and are considered armed when making such attacks. You provoke no attacks of opportunity from grapple or disarm checks. This feat adds Diplomacy, Intimidate, and Sense Motive to your list of class skills. Police Combat Training is an external style whose attacks are modified by Strength.

Y'know, my wife teaches this stuff. I'll have to add that to her character sheet...

Yeah I thought you guys would like that. As to why I was culling certain types of material from BNG and the War on Terror supplement, including that feat... well... you'll just have to wonder a little bit longer won't you (he said smugly).

Seriously though, I took a break from BNF 2 *duck* to turn some recent goings on in my campaign into what I think will be a rocking 25 page mini-blood book on a very cool, but very unusual topic.

Updated Class list for the new BNF:

Advanced Classes: Ninja, Totem Warrior, Weapon Master, Yakuza

Prestige Classes: Sensei, Warrior Monk, Zen Master

*drools* Ya know, I've continually been saying "i'm going to get this" and haven't gotten around to it. But when this revision hits, no hesitation this time, I'm definetely getting it.

Now, it is all a matter of time...
