I kind of like to imagine Arcane as the 'power of all'; a kind of metaphysical glue that binds the entire multiverse together.
I'm wondering if there might be design space for some kind of class, multiclass, paragon path, build option, whatever, that focuses on drawing power from two opposing planes and combing that power into some kind of new unstable power.
Feywild + Shadowfell = Balance of Life and Death
Astral Sea + Elemental Chaos = Balance of Law and Chaos
