My above post crossed with odno's reply.
Consider my above post to be an immediate response to Ally words. Odno may change his reply accordingly.

(OOC: Did you remember that Alli gets both Knowledge: X and Lore checks?)

"Oh, how beautiful!" Alli clasps her hands together and bows slightly, "Mighty guardian, I am humbled by the sight of your true form."

(OOC: Have the spell auras from Detect Magic been acting up while this happened? Specifically, the vanishing door and the appearance of the guardian)

ooc: good call 1, i forgot the lore ability. Unfortunately it does not uncover anything about this creature to ally. Good call 2: yes, the illusion aura dissapated completely.

(OOC: Ah well. It's hard to get good Lore rolls without 5 in Knowledge History, and she can't afford that yet.

The illusion aura was presumably what was keeping the guardian invisible--we/are there any auras where the door once was?)

(OOC: But was there an illusion on that spot before as well? It's possible that we teleported somewhere new that never had a door, and we only thought there was a door)

Ally detected one faint illusion aura which dissapeared as soon as the creature dissapeared. Teleporting to a new location seems unlikely but not impossible.

(OOC: Ah, alright. Detect Magic usually gives the location of each aura also (unless there was some magic up preventing that, which is definitely okay!). Anyway, Ally has already responded to the bird thing--I guess she can respond more:)

"You speak as if this place's purpose was death...surely that must have been painful for a servant of Elysium. But tell me, do you know why an imp has taken over the altar and the entrance to this shrine, or why devilish animals wander about, seeking to slay all those who come near? Has something terrible happened here?"

Odno leans to Aletheia and whispers "Just be careful... this one looks like a celestial, but there are certain details amiss... be wary of deception, I'd say"

Eanos, human monk

As the young cleric contradicts him, Eanos opens his mouth to object, then closes it. He remembers his first mission, and the strides the clever bluffs of Rinaldo acheived. While his own personal vows won't allow him to lie, he has learned when to keep his mouth shut and let others say what needs saying.

At least, he thinks as Odno joins in (and certainly the truthseeker is surprised to realize he might ever feel this way) Eanos hopes his companions are being deceptive. He's not quite sure what he'll do if it turns out they have natures capricious enough to force him to try to violate an agreement.

He pushes the thought from his head, turning to the creature hovering before them. Let the cleric do the talking, he thinks. Concentrate on judging the creature's reactions.

[sblock=OOC]Sense Motive +11. Hoping to gain any insights into what may or may not be 'getting through' to the creature, and/or listening for points where the creature might be misleading the party / holding things back.[/sblock]
