Break of Dawn [Manzanita judging] COMPLETED

"It's not our target, either. Except for a possible trap, I tend to think that we should just take the jewelry--after all, it is doing no good to him dead. Imagine what good we could do with them. Just one of those pieces of jewelry sitting here on a corpse could even feed several starving children for a year!"

"However, I admit that there may be a trap, so perhaps we should come back later. If I haven't used up my spells to detect magic by then in the other rooms, I could even check for magic on the jewelry, which could also find a magical trap as well."

The dead need no jewels. We'll get em when we leave, no reason to carry it around til then. Now - two of these rooms have been deeper'n what ya see on top. Let's see what the pillows and the birds are about.

"Sounds like a solid plan, Mordik. Lead on. And remember, I can use Detect Magic to sense the presence of the dweomer, if there is such. I can even just hold Concentration and sweep the rooms with one spell. Want to try?"

*Ally will do just that, sweeping each room with her 60 foot cone, concentrating for the full time whenever she finds one (shouldn't require much effort unless the rooms are very very large--you can just roll Spellcraft for me for each aura to see if she knows the school).*

At "Want to try?" Mordik notices Ally start to incant and gesture, so gives her a few moments. Then with a nod, he continues on unless she stops him. Let's check the birds...

(OOC: Ally will follow Mordik, though she'll glance around the room in which they are currently located first of course. She won't stop any longer than necessary to get the full three rounds for each area with auras, though. It should take about a minute, maybe two if there's a lot of magic in each room, though there is theoretically no limit to the duration of Detect Magic if she keeps concentrating)

The party, with mordik up front moves to the 'bird room'.
As before, the room is filled with the chitter of the six birds that dart through the air at breakneck speed. The room is filled with a soft light from no obvious source.
After a small while you hear a loud whisper (yes, a loud whisper as if a whispering voice is 'amplified') through the chirping:
[sblock=druidic]
"The joy of life is a force to be reckoned with. Capture and harness that force in order to overcome darkness and fear."
[/sblock]

Ally detects one medium illusion aura, coming from the doorpost, six faint illusion auras, one emanating from each bird and one evocation aura filling the entire room (probably the light she figures).

Mordik's eyebrow rises, ..Alright, that whispering was new and confusing- let's check the pillow room now and then the berry bush room just to be sure, and we can come back to figure it all out.

The monk raises an eyebrow. "It seems you may be right, Aletheia. A set of puzzles. And while a devil guarded the gate, it appears here, at least, the druids are still in force. Let's look at all the pieces before we act rashly."

In the other rooms ally sensed the following aura's:
Central room: The wall with the fresco radiates strong illusion, alteration and abjuration.
Pillow room: the entire room radiates faint evocation and she detects a faint abjuration aura beneath one of the pillows.
Sarcophagus room: no aura's

(OOC: And nothing with the bush either? Okay cool. Hmm, I wonder when we'll find the unknown item in the BoD stay out thread  )

"No Enchantment with the pillows, so we need not beware a sleep spell. There's Abjuration under that pillow over there. Mordik, search for traps--abjurations can sometimes be traps. It might also mean something good is there. The whole room has faint Evocation, which is hopefully just light but could be an attack spell."

(OOC: I'm sure Mordik will want to take 20 on the place with an obvious Abjuration aura. Does he find a trap?)
