ooc: It's been still for some time here. You are standing outside the just outside the shrine, discussing what to do next. The ball is more or less on youor park unless there's something you need me inform you about (and if so, please let me know).

Mordik seems to be talking more to himself than anyone else, once they're outside of these ruins,
Bringing em together looks like a bad idea. But that's founded on what the Guardian said about the amulet, and if we trust him, we dunna trust Graven to have it. But we trust the Guardian to have both?

"I trust an ancient otherworldy guardian more than a fickle human. Even if Graven's own motives are pure, having the artifact out of the protection of the Guardian makes it easier for another, with malicious intent, to obtain it. I think we should return to Dawn and arrange transportation back to Graven's."

OOC: Apologies. I was working under the assumption that our talk of strategy was happening as we made our way back to Graven, since we all seemed to have agreed at least that we were going back there, if not on how we planned to approach it.

Likewise, I hadn't heard any objections to Ally's plan (that she tell Graven we need the other half to gain access to the half in the temple), so I thought that was our working stratey until other information / circumstances changed that.

"I shall have to side with Quarion on this one. The Guardian spoke the forbidden Druidic tongue--that in itself is legitimising, though we don't know exactly what it was saying. However, Quarion is my friend, and I believe we can trust that our elven comrade has translated the Druidic faithfully. Speaking of which, did you get a handle on that last bit of Druidic? I'm guessing it was something important, and I'll assume it wasn't something to the effect of 'KILL THEM ALL FOR THE GLORY OF THE DARK MASTERS'."

ooc: So you make your way back through the woods to the town ofm dawn and then return to Orussus and finally, to Lord Graven's mansion?

(OOC: Yep. Also, when we rest back in Dawn, the 1st-level characters finally actually get to apply the stats they received for leveling to 2 a while back (and they may receive more XP for the Guardian and puzzles too maybe, so I'm guessing we may be pushing 3 if we are lucky ). This does mean, of course, that I'm going to need the second judge approval on Ally now, whereas before there was no issue since we had not actually applied the stats for level 2 yet)

Along the long trek back to Graven...

Ah, but keep in mind the human took it from another guardian, so he's either more powerful or more clever. Either way, I've seen good and bad from humans and not enough from "otherworldlies" to know what part I should be stickin the sharp end in. If we're trustin it, that's all well and good. So long as our reputations with employers ain't gonna make it hard to go job huntin cuz we killed our last one.

"If that truly is a being of pure good and not something else disguised, and I think it is being honest in its appearance, then we can probably trust it. I say probably because some beings of pure good are so self-sacrificing in their pursuit of the greater good that they are also willing to sacrifice others--they don't have the capacity to understand other people who aren't willing to sacrifice themselves to save others because they themselves are built out of pure altruism, so they automatically make the assumption that everyone is on board with that. This is, of course, not a perfect assumption to make with us mortals, as we have our own passions, dreams, and wishes, rather than being made out of cosmic good. Of course, that just means we need to think carefully about whether or not we are actually even capable of taking down Graven. To a being of pure good, it would be the correct decision for the Guardian to send us to try if it thought we had any chance, even if it thought our chance of success was slim and our chance of dying was likely."

"I think of this return as reconnaissance. We discern if Graven has the other half, and try to evaluate his strength versus ours.

"That said, we should also keep an eye out for exits, too. I'm not keen on leaving everything just as it started, but I'm less keen on dying."
