Buffy Bio on A&E

8pm est on the 14th A&E is doing a Biography episode on the show Buffy the Vampire Slayer. From the TV Guide online:

The making of the TV series, a cult favorite, is recalled by creator Joss Whedon, who wanted Buffy “to be an icon, not just a TV show.”
“I'd rather have a show that a hundred people need to see than a thousand people like to see,” explains Whedon, who also wrote the 1992 film that inspired the series. “I want Buffy to live in people's imagination.” Actually, it will live there and in syndication after May 20, when the spooky comedy-drama that debuted in 1997 and spawned an Angel spinoff airs its final episode. The hour includes clips of favorite moments, such as those from the musical episode, season finales and Buffy's romance with Angel. Sarah Michelle Gellar and David Boreanaz are also interviewed.

I missed this one. Anything interesting? I was reading recently about how the entire cast of Buffy basically hated Gellar, as she was as much of a princess in real life as she was on the show. I don't usually lower myself to such gossip *ahem* but I have to say I'm curious if anything came out about it. :)

uv23, there was nothing "interesting" in that sense. The show was a very light documentary, aimed more at informing people who weren't that familiar with the show. There was some background, behind-the-scenes stuff, but not a lot. It lacked the more investigative style of "Behind the Music" or similar documentaries. They would briefly touch on parts of the show's history where there was tension, like the move to UPN or replacing the actress who played Willow in the unaired pilot, but that was it. It was entertaining, though.
