[Buffy] New Episode Tonight. Don't forget! [SPOILERS]

Yeah, I had been thinking it would have been easy for the First Evil to have killed off a slayer-in-training and taken her place, since we'd never seen any of them until just recently. And then Eve suddenly gets all doomy and gloomy. It seemed to fit...

And plus, there was an even bigger hint staring us all in the face this whole time: her name was Eve! That's like, what, short for Evil! (I'll bet all of the First Evil's friends call her "Eve" for short.)

Anybody else see that floating eyeball demon that Giles and Anya consulted and think: "Hey, mutant beholder!" - that was my first thought.

Right, the problem is that there are two slayers. That goes back to the end of season 1. Anya came up with this 'we brought her back' theory, she has some guilt about that still, and Giles just looked at her as she walked away. He insisted on taking her to that beholder so she could get bad ideas.

I saw it! I saw it!

I saw Anya's hand brush up against Giles as they exited the portal back to our dimension!

I'm not so sure about that. I was watching for exactly the same thing, and saw nothing to confirm, either way.

We did see Eve spend several days with them, without anyone realizing that she wasn't solid (which is, again, very odd). Which lends some credence to the idea that somehow it can pull off this masquerade as Giles. Still, it's implied that Giles was with Anya at the time that the First Evil was impersonating Eve. Can it be in two places at once?

I was thinking, do they NOT know that the First Evil can't take physical form? The old "touch" test would seem a pretty easy way to detect those nasty old shapeshifters.

It was probably both Eve with the slayerettes, and Buffy with Spike, at the same time (assuming Eve didn't keep getting up to use the ladies' room every time she had to torture Spike).

What I caught was just the teensiest, tiniest indentation of the fabric of his jacket as the back of her left hand brushed up against it.

I probably would have missed it, except that I had my blue contacts in at the time, granting me a +2 racial bonus to my Spot check.

Please put spoilers in the thread title incase someone stumbles into things here....

Why should Eve's name have meant anything as far as a clue *in* the story? It may have been a meta-clue from the writers to the audience, but her name was Eve before she was killed and her form was assumed. Bugged me because they are making things too obvious, IMO. Kinda cheesy to think we need to be coddled, eh?

I'm with those whjo are of a mind that the two slayers (Buffy and her successor, that is) being alive is the reason that things are getting so tough.

This gets me thinking.

You know what I want?

I want the finale to be the war that Buffy promised us last month when she declared the Scoobies an army. I want Buffy hacking off heads and hewing down evil. I want Spike there at her side, and I want to meet the new Slayer, too.

I want Willow blazing through hordes of enemies with her fireball and blade conjuring spells. I want Giles to be knee-deep in the melee too, along with Anya. I want Xander to make some noble sacrifice to drive home that "carpenter" angle they've been so keen on playing up all these years. I want Andrew bringing some of his evil genius to the team, too, dammit!

But most of all, I want Angel and his gang there, and I want them to bring Faith.

Okay. This greased-up fanboy is done with his wet dreaming.

For now.

::crawls back into his corner and crosses his fingers again::

"Maybe I should write some fanfic!" he mutters to himself.

Did they ever kill off Faith? If not, they should bring her back to replace Buffy as the chosen one before the series ends. After all, she is the official slayer

On the subject of Eve, I knew she was bad. The way I saw the clue was that Eve was the first sinner, biblically, which could be the basis of the word evil.

She is not dead (yet) and she is to be in some (Buffy/Angel)shows this season, or so rumor has it.

Really ticked, my WB/UPN station was having issues last night and reception was ugly! Arrrrrrr!

Yep, I noticed that too.

I thought it was an okay episode. The fight at the end didn't do much for me, since Buffy had no way of knowing that she could beat the thing. And if all it took was decapitation, wouldn't an axe have worked a bit better?

Anyways, looking forward to what comes next...
