Re: Re: Faith
You know, last season there was about half an episode where Spike realized he could beat the snot out of Buffy without any ill effects from his chip. Then, towards the end of the season, he went after her again in the rape scene. He had that one moment of lucidity, where he was like, "You came back wrong, Slayer!" and they never did a thing with it. Nobody seemed to mention it again. I think that's a factor here.
Then again, if it's something Buffy did, maybe it was saving Dawn, and that the Key was never meant to stay in human form indefinitely? What if she winds up having to slay Dawn to set things right again?
I had another really insightful thought, but I forgot what it was, so I'm just going to mention that from here on out, I'm watching the show first and foremost because I understand everything that comes out of Andrew's mouth.

Actually, the books that Giles brought with him were in one of the Slayer-to-be's backpack. He had her dump them on the table and never actually touched them himself.
Also, when they returned from the Eye dimension, Giles said that it was because Buffy was still alive after having died. Anya assumed that it's because of the second resurrection (which it may be), but in the first episode of the season, The First told Spike they were "going back to the beginning". This makes me believe that it goes back to when the whole two Slayer thing first started.
Just my $.02, of course.
