[Buffy] New Episode Tonight. Don't forget! [SPOILERS]

Giles is Real

Throughout this episode they talked about Giles informing them of when the new Slayerettes were coming into town. The group that was responsible for tracking them down was the witches coven in England. Since the only way he could have talked to them was over the phone he must have held the reciever at some time, ergo he is still alive. I really can't picture the Coven only calling when he was out of the house, and him not picking up the phone when it was handed to him.

Besides the First Evil seemed like it was more concentrating on hitting the Slayerettes through eve. If it was manifesting as Giles all it would of had to do was take them to meet buffy at the warrens or some such. They would have never had a chance.

Well, Hyde didn't want to go to the party, but then he ended up going anyway, and Jackie is great and funny, and the repeat right after was a good ep too, one I'd missed!

Oh, right, you guys watched Buffy instead of That 70's Show...

I read the spoilers for Buffy, and was disappointed. I started watching the ep, and found that the spoilers were actually better than the episode....

Looks like I'll just give up totally on Buffy.

A phone line. Basically, you buy a recorder (the cheapest ones are about $199 I believe and will record up to 80 hours of TV), pay $12 a month (I think) and you can program it to do all sorts of things. Some of the newer ones can record multiple channels at once, even. For example, you can tell it to record all specials with Robin Williams. It also gets an idea of what programs you like and it will record programs that it thinks you may want to watch (but it won't overwrite things you purposefully recorded). You can save things to a VCR also. And one of the nicest things is that it has a built in program guide that it updates weekly. I highly recommend them (and I've got a really old one that only records about 8 hours - my brother has a DirectTiVo that is really nice, but limited to use with DirectTV).

Check out http://www.tivo.com/ for more info about it.

And I think it's the real Giles. I mean, did you see how messed up his hair was when they got back from The Eye's dimension? No self respecting Manifestation of Pure Evil would ever let itself look like that... :D

And, perhaps more directly, Giles showed up with a few books he managed to get away from the destruction of the Council, and he dropped them on Buffy's coffee table with a bit of a thump. Unless they killed him off screen since he arrived in Sunnydale, it's the real Giles.

And, it's probably not the fact that there's two Slayers. There have been two of them for years now, and the First didn't do much. The First is moving now, which implies that it's something recent.

In the Buffyverse, there's a marked difference between forms of death and ressurection. Death by magic is different from death by mundane means. It's probably similar for reviving - Xander revived Buffy the first time using CPR. Nice and mundane. Buffy's second death was mystical, and so was her ressurection...

Mind you, the Eye said it was something Buffy did, specifically. Buffy didn't ressurect herself, and I'm not sure that "failing to be dead" qualifies as an action on her part. Maybe it was not so much her reviving as the mode of her death? *shrug* We shall see...

Actually, the books that Giles brought with him were in one of the Slayer-to-be's backpack. He had her dump them on the table and never actually touched them himself.

Also, when they returned from the Eye dimension, Giles said that it was because Buffy was still alive after having died. Anya assumed that it's because of the second resurrection (which it may be), but in the first episode of the season, The First told Spike they were "going back to the beginning". This makes me believe that it goes back to when the whole two Slayer thing first started.

Just my $.02, of course.

*shrug*. I'm pretty darn sure he does handle at least one of them at some point. I don't have a videotape to refer to, though, so I cannot prove it.

Can someone who taped the shows since Giles' return verify this, one way or the other, please?

Maybe they'll do some sort of time travel thingy and try to kill Buffy before she is recruited...
