Exactly what I was going to say.I think 4e already kinda nailed this. I’d probably just go with that list.
I'd third that, especially since some of my favorite interpretation of a couple of those gods are from their 4e versions, like Bane.I think 4e already kinda nailed this. I’d probably just go with that list.
Almost.I think 4e already kinda nailed this. I’d probably just go with that list.
This brings up something I've been wondering. Why are their evil gods? What if all gods were Good or Neutral, the typical divine conflict being between Law and Chaos, while the Devils, Demons, and other fiends handle the evil.Id go with no racial pantheon and no niche god.
Lathander: Sun, Harvest, Youth, Life
Arvoreen: Love, Family, Home, Protection
Erathis: Civilization, Artisans, Commerce, Travel, Law
Raven Queen; Time, Moon, Memories, Fate, Burial.
Fenmarel: Adventure, Chaos, Rebellion, Luck.
Tautam: Magic, Secrets, Darkness, gem, mining
Baervan: Nature, friendship, Revelery.
Evil stuff is left to the Demon Lords/Archdevils.
Elemental stuff is left to the Elemental Princes.
I mean… It’s very true to the Indo-European “Striker God” archetype.Kord is doing too much. Having the Storm God being the Strength God creates an unneccesary overlap.
Nah, she’s just what happens when the Indo-European “Earth Mother Goddess” archetype accounts for the fact that Earth is 70% ocean.Melora is doing too much. You can;t be the Wildnerness Goddess and the Sea goddess.
That’s Sehanine.No formal Trickery God(dess).
It’s not a cop-out, it’s a very intentional choice, directly connected to the setting’s origin for Tieflings. No God of Men ('He died" is a copout)
Also a very intentional choice, as one of the main goals of the setting rework was to universalize the deities and get rid of species-specific gods. Correllon is the god of the arts rather than the god of elves, Moradin is the god of the forge rather than the god of dwarves, etc.No God of Giants for giants and goliaths
