Calling all fighters!

My group is going to have a free for all tournament. It is going to be 10th level characters (no multiclass), in a Last man Standing type, whoever wins their class is the best. I will be playing a fighter. Rules are as follows: Items per DMG (how much GP worth of stuff each level should have), all timed items (potions, spells, rings, etc) will be already in effect, will last for one hour real time, winner is either last man standing, or whoever has most perentage of their HP's left. I need a 10th level fighter level that is pretty much a bad*ss. Any help from you out there would be most appreciated.

What does the arena look like? Whether it's a crammed pit or a vast field can make quite the difference. Also, it's crucial to know if you begin the fight at melee, charge, or bow range.

If it's a pitfight I'd go zweihander, but I don't think it will be as the fighter would get a huge advantage compared to the rest of the classes in such an arena.

Anyhow, I'd probably go elven archer with a magical bow and magical arrows. Hits, and lots of them, guaranteed!
 

Alright Eggman. Now you've done it. I replied to the other thread concerning wizards and now to this fighter thread. You MUST let us know how the competition went. :)
 

The pit is 75 foot by 75 foot. We will be starting back to back. I figured that the fighter would be ata disadvantage. Which is one of the reasons why I am playing one. I am really tired of everyone saying that a fighter is even with the everyone because of their bonus feats. Don't get me wrong, I love fighters and will play with all I am worth, but unless I stock up on some super magic itesm, I am toast.

Don't worry either myself or Sinklar will let everyone know. (depends on who wins, speaking of which there is 7 of us playing, so we will have all types)

So, after one hour, whoever has the most percentage of HP left wins? I'd make a wizard, then bog down the game by using monster summoning to summon multiple low-level creatures, and demanding that each creature's stats and HP are rolled individually. Possibly, use creatures with a load of attacks and a good movement rate. This way I should run out of time before the fighter even gets close. Ten seconds before the end, I cast a magic missile at the fighter. :D
 

Too bad I already made all the rules. I definitly would have made one againts that. If you would play a wizard, in all fairness, you can post hints to our wizard in his post, can't remember the name of the post, but his name is Sinklar. Or you could just stick around here and tell me how to beat a wizard.
 

Ready an action is all the hope you have. If the wizard is allowed to cast one spell you are toast. So, you need to win initiative and smack him around as soon as he raises his hands.

Can you cast spells prior to the bout? If not and if you start back to back with him you could probably kill the wizard in one painful full-attack action.
 

All spells will that are cast on the caster will be cast before the match. Likewise any potions or items that are required to be activated will be done before the match. Personnelly I think I have two chances, either a high damage guy, or a slash and dash musketeer type.
 

Potion of Speed, and two weapon fighting would be good. Ring of invisibility, to hide until near the end? Ring, or potion of jumping, to leap out of the pit?
Wizards have such an advantage over the other classes. One failed save, and the fighter is dead. Hold person, polymorph other, even charm person/suggestion, and with the weak saving throws of the fighter to will saves, he'll be screwed.
Maybe if you can get two full attack round in, you'll be able to do enough damage to bring the wizard down, but I'm sure he'll be using mirror image/blink, or similar magic, so will be quite hard.
Are you allowed to make alliances beforehand with other players/characters?
 

Alliance are strictly prohibited. It is not really a pit, more of an arena. Good suggestions though, I will definitly use them.
