Camera advice wanted.

Not a bad deal. :)

I went Canon after shooting with a friends Rebel and liking the feel.

Of course a great deal (with lifetime warrantee!) from Costco certainly didn't hurt. ;)

I'm also on the look out for a camera. I expect the purchase will be delayed though, as I need to build up some funds. It needs to have a decent zoom, and pixels/resolution. I've been told anti-shake is a good idea, and I want to be able to play with the shutter speed manually.

I'm going to be using it for (semi)drunken photo taking and also some 'artistic' stuff ([link]). I don't really want to spend more than £120 at the *most*, less than £100 is possible...

Thanks for any help, and sorry for the hi-jack!

£100?

I doubt you'll find anything significantly better than the camera built into your phone for that.

I *think* this is the UK version of the SD1000, which has a pretty good rep as a decent P&S round here.

I've seen a few models for that price, they aren't state of the art but they'll do the job. I've lost the links to them now though... I've been searching but because the names are mainly numbers and letters it's hard to remember them. There was a kodak one I saw with 5 MP and 5 times optical Zoom. Began with a Z?

The problem is I don't know enough about cameras to know which I would be best with, let alone know where to look for them.
